The STORY DOES have an actual ending. And now, thankfully so does this series.
Wheel Of Time Canceled By Prime Video After 3 Seasons
Notwithstanding the good work of the cast and crew, a sad reality is that no one else will ever try to bring Jordan's work to TV or film.
This version strayed so far from the source material that if anyone tried to air what Jordan actually wrote, the fans of this series would never recognize it.
The showrunner tried to completely change the plot characters and details to fit his agenda. Sad. It was like a washboard and jug band playing Mozart.
The Wheel Of Time Hints Its Going To Flip The Books' Most Annoying Perrin Story
Good observation, but I would say SO many not TOO many side plots. The massive scope and cast of thousands was a compliment not a detriment of Jordan's story.
The Wheel Of Time Hints Its Going To Flip The Books' Most Annoying Perrin Story
Once again we see total disregard for Robert Jordan's (James Rigney's) work. Rafe Judkin's itted agenda driven storylines and rewriting of characters bears little resemblance to the books purchased and read by tens of millions of readers worldwide.
It's not that the product is poorly written or not entertaining. The work of the cast and crew have been stellar given the material provided by the story runner. The success and popularity make it unlikely that if the series would cease, no studio or producer would make the effort to correct it and bring Jordan's REAL work to the large or small screen. The audience that has accepted Judkins repainting of the Mona Lisa would not appreciate the genuine article if restored.
A storied masterpiece of fantasy literature has been lost to television and cinema, not because the counterfeit is bad, but precisely because it's good. I'm a loyal fan of the books, dismayed by the visceral alteration of it's content; I've also reluctantly become a fan of the show because it IS well done. It's just not the REAL Wheel of Time.
I have nothing but praise for the cast, mostly made up of actors little known to the audience who have done a great job. The special effects, make up, wardrobe and locations look very much like the world Jordan wrote.
Some early story alterations will effect the plot going forward. Each change takes us further from Jordan.
I'll keep watching, 'cause I do like the series. But I'll remain disappointed for what has been lost.
If The Lord of the Rings Needs a New Movie Idea, I've Put Together the Perfect Pitch
It would be a waste of a good stand alone, live action, movie opportunity to do an anime production of Children of Hurin. The potential for movie(s) or a streaming series would be better art and more profitable. We've seen the miniscule audience for anime outside Japan with The War of the Rohirrim. It seems that both people who saw it enjoyed it, but you can't turn a profit on those kind of ticket sales.
