See All“It Is A Business”: Rings Of Power Season 3 & Beyond Addressed By Amazon Studios Boss Given S2 Viewership
It interesting to see the spin, when it's ranking behind shows like Tulsa king at the moment.. which given it's budget .. really shouldn't be happening.. viewer retention has been poor and way down from season one.. so the figures spinning is wild.
What I will say is that IF this wasn't a Tolkien based project I'd have probably enjoyed it more, but given how it disregards so much of established canon and lore (yes I understand they don't have rights to most of the second age) it's almost a case of why bother and why not make your new project .... Be bold and do something different vox machina is twice the show in my opinion and has a fraction of the budget.. and tragics the campaign pretty well!
You Missed The Rings Of Power Confirming Sauron & Galadriel Were Brought Together By Middle-Earth's God
I think this take gives the show runners a bit Too much credit. They aren't eru and judging by how they seem to disregard Tolkien's work, are closer to Morgoth by creating disharmony in the the fans.
I understand the need to stories to be contemporary with today's world, but that should mean making new ones and not altering those that are already great, often diminishing them.
The idea of eru causing them to meet to spur them on, in the series I genuinely think is more a convenience nearly a contrivance of plot as opposed to a clever subtext of illuvitar working in the back ground
