I'm interested by your take and would like to hear more about where you're getting that information from! As far as I know, it's pretty commonplace for pilots to be recast once a series is picked up by a network - especially when there is a huge time gap like there was here. Given that Amazon Prime was the network in question, I think Vivziepop was looking for a degree of polish and experience that just wasn't there with the indie pilot's original crew -- and that is not to say that they are not all incredibly talented individuals, because the pilot is fantastic and I have the utmost respect for the original cast. I do think the first season wound up being a bit more refined than the YouTube pilot, but it's down to individual taste, and ultimately, down to the creator of the series.

I haven't seen anything regarding Vivziepop making threats of firing the OG VAs or having some premeditated plan to replace them all with Broadway actors. Especially given that it took 5 years for the series to be picked up, it seems a bit far-fetched to me that Vivienne even knew the show would achieve enough success to plan that in advance. I'd like to hear more if you have any sources citing the actual pilot cast commenting on this!
