See All10 Harsh Realities Of Watching Supernatural Season 1, 19 Years Later
“Sam & Dean’s relationship felt forced” NO KIDDING. That was the entire point. the set-up from the pilot? They were ESTRANGED. The prank war was forced because they were FORCING a normalcy from when they were younger but they had grown. They lacked chemistry because they were on completely different paths in life and suddenly thrust back together.
I also heavily disagree about the roles of John, Azaezel, and Meg. “mission that had nothing to do with finding [John]” well they had no leads and John is the one who was nudging them into continuing hunting, The FAMILY business. As for Azaezel and Meg, less is more. Sure, they aren’t fleshed out, but Azaezel is supposed to be a looming ominous threat and giving away too much information would ruin that. And Meg being in a few episodes doesn’t undermine her strength as a villain. Supernatural season 1 isn’t about confronting a Big Bad.
I agree with a lot of the other points, but it really feels like whoever wrote this just… did not get the season at all.
