The Dark Knight Ascends: It’s been 10 years since the events of DKR, Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle live a quiet life in Florence, Italy with their twins Helena and Sienna. Since Bane’s attack on the city, Gotham City has changed as Batman’s legacy is now seen as undermining the law and causing more harm than good. Jim Gordon retired before the events of the film and moved to Chicago which left the door open for a new GD to take his place. An anti-vigilante police task force is established by Senator Rupert Thorne, who is using Gotham as his political playground to give him the influence he needs. When a hidden figure from Selina’s past starts stalking their family and disrupting their quiet life, Bruce is forced to wear the cowl once again and return to Gotham to find the man in the shadows. The man is named Jervis Tetch who uses psychological torture, MKUltra style, to control his victims. Bruce returns to find that John Blake was forced into retirement as well and now runs the orphanage out of Wayne Manor. A new vigilante named Anarky, both inspired by Batman’s heroics and Joker’s villainy, has taken over the streets. With a city now against him, new villains to fight and few allies in his corner, Bruce must answer the question as he rises up as Batman once more, ‘can Batman be more then a symbol?’
