On May 25, Ryu and Chun-Li of crossplay functionality to the Power Rangers fighter.
The game's day one roster allowed players to assume the role of mainstays such as the Red Ranger, Green Ranger, and Mike Corbett's Magna Defender. Trini Kwan's Yellow Ranger, the White Mystic Ranger, and the Blue Ranger entered the grid as free post-launch able content. Meanwhile, characters such as Drakkon, Black Wolf Warrior, Gold Ranger, and Wolf Ranger have appeared on the Battle for the Grid roster thanks to paid DLC offerings. The next batch of post-launch content is sure to delight many a fan of the fighting game genre.
While Street Fighter V Season 5 prepares for the advent of new characters, Capcom is allowing a couple of the franchise's legacy combatants to spread their wings elsewhere. In conjunction with IGN, nWay recently unveiled Street Fighter's Chun-Li and Ryu as crossover characters who will Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid on May 25. Chun-Li will transform into the Blue Phoenix Ranger, while Ryu assumes the role of Crimson Hawk Ranger. The Street Fighter DLC Pack is set to launch across all platforms next month for $12.50, though players can purchase the fighters separately at $5.99 apiece. News about exclusive skins should surface "at a later date."
Chun-Li and Ryu have experienced quite the eventful year, thus far, as the two classic Epic Games' hit multiplayer title, but the above trailer indicates Chun-Li and Ryu will feel especially at home on the Power Rangers roster.
Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid launched with its fair share of problems in 2019. However, there's no denying that nWay and publisher Lionsgate Games went out of their way to at least attempt to make something special. This much is most notably evident in the fact that several of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers actors reprised their roles for the project.
