Fire-type Pokémon in Pokémon games have long been a fan favorite for their strength and cool designs. In Pokémon GO, that's no different, with many players choosing Fire types as their go-to's in battle. There are plenty to choose from, from the cute and cuddly Torchic to the fierce and powerful Charizard. Despite all belonging to the same elemental type, each Fire Pokémon brings something unique to the battleground. Some bring speed, others bring raw power, and some bring versatility by mixing Fire with other types like Flying or Fighting.

Pokémon GO has also brought in mechanics from previous games, such as being able to evolve Pokémon into Mega forms. Then there's Shadow Pokémon, exclusive to Pokémon GO. For casual Pokémon GO players, it might not matter who the strongest of the strong is. However, for those with a little more of a competitive streak, choosing the best Fire-type Pokémon for raids and battles can make all the difference in climbing the ranks and defeating tough opponents. As a competitive player, here are the ones you should invest in.

Moltres is another legendary bird, but this time from the OG games and generation. Because Moltres is a bird, this Pokémon isn't just a Fire type but also a Flying type, which means it uses a mix of the two attack types. While good in certain situations, it can also be problematic when facing off against the wrong foe. Don't let that stop you from using Moltres (or even Ho-Oh!) as this bird is a powerhouse in battles.

Use Moltres' Fire Spin and Sky Attack and you'll deal a DPS of 16.81 and a TDO of 300.56. Of course, it has other decent combinations, like Fire Spin and Overheat or Fire Spin and Fire Blast.
