As more and more Fairy-type Pokémon get added to some Pokemon are still missing from the game, you have plenty of options. These flashy friends can pack some serious razzle-dazzle and look good doing it, but which one should you pick for your team? The answer, of course, depends a bit on what you're facing, but generally, a few stand out from the rest.

Like many of the Pokémon Go, some of the best Fairy-types are dual-typed, allowing them to be more versatile than a single-typed Pokémon. Additionally, Fairy-types give an edge over the hard-to-beat Dragon-types while having respectable damage numbers even without a type advantage. For trainers who want to pick a powerful and fashionable team, these Fairy-types make a great addition to any roster.

10 Primarina

Dual Type Moves To Cover Some Bases

Primarina is a Water and Fairy-type Pokemon, and because its Fast attacks don't generate much energy, it doesn't see a lot of use for its Charged attack. Unfortunately, this means it's often beaten in PvP by spammier movesets, but if its Charged attack can go off, it can be pretty strong. Overall, Primarina isn't the best pick for your Fairy-type team, but it can be fine in a pinch.

Both the Ultra League and Love Cup: Great League are tough competitions, but you can win more matches by selecting the best teams in Pokémon GO.

Primarina's best moveset is Charm alongside Hydro Cannon, for which you'll need an Elite Charge TM, which allows you to teach Primarina Hydro Cannon as its Charged attack. Thanks to its Fairy and Water typing, it's resistant to Bug-, Dark-, Fighting-, Fire-, Ice-, Water-, and Dragon types, giving it some broad utility despite its overall low damage. Primarina should never be the go-to Fairy-type, but particularly for players who don't have others in their box; it has its uses.

9 Tapu Lele

This Legendary Has An Excellent Attack Stat... But A Mid Moveset

Tapu Lele is the best attacker of the Tapus, but what it boasts in Stats, it lacks in of attack choices. Confusion is a great Psychic-type move, but Tapu Lele doesn't have a matching Charged attack to round out the set. Additionally, Nature's Madness is an excellent Fairy-type Charged attack that suffers because of Tapu Lele's lack of a Fairy-type Fast attack. Moveset isn't everything, but something about Tapu Lele means that no matter the moves it has, it's never going to be the perfect Fairy-type solution for your problems.

8 Alolan Ninetales

Fairy And Ice-Type Flair That Can Weather Enemy Attacks

Alolan Ninetales is iconic for a few reasons; its icy redesign and its prowess on the battlefield make it a top contender for any Fairy-type needs. Whether in its normal or Shadow form, a peak Alolan Ninetales will have Charm and Dazzling Gleam in its moveset, allowing you to deal poke damage and charge your Dazzling Gleam and deal high burst. In a pinch, it's not horrible to have a move like Weather Ball to provide some Ice-type coverage as well if you can't find a Ninetales with the dual-fairy moveset.

Alolan Ninetales' typing means that it's good against a lot of different types, but will perform particularly poorly against the Pokémon Go.

Alolan Ninetales also has the benefit of being pretty tanky overall, despite lacking a bit in the overall damage category. This gives you time to charge up attacks and save your swaps for when they're really needed. Being able to take a few hits isn't a guaranteed win condition, but it'll buy you some time when up against an opponent that counters either your Ice or Fairy typing.

7 Togekiss

The Same Fairy-Type Moveset, But More Damage

Like Alolan Ninetales, the peak Fairy-type Togekiss will know Charm and Dazzling Gleam, allowing it to do roughly 14 damage per second when attacking consistently. Togekiss' Charm deals relatively minor damage that builds up over time, and once Dazzling Gleam has been charged, that damage becomes much more of a threat. Togekiss can also learn a Fighting-type move, Aura Sphere, using an Elite Charge TM that increases its DPS but loses out on that fairy-typing in its moveset.

Finding the balance between Fairy and another type with many of the dual-type Fairy Pokemon can be tricky, and it depends on the matchup being faced. Togekiss is feared in PvP thanks to its Charm/Dazzling Gleam combo, but it's nice to have a strong Fighting-type move on deck if an unexpected opponent hits you. No matter which moveset you go with, Togekiss' overall utility is high enough that it's a must-have as a backup at the very least.

6 Mega Diancie

Rock And Fairy Type, With Some Excellent Stats

Mega Diancie is a Mythical Pokemon with a really awesome attack and pretty good defense stats, making up for its only slightly Fairy-type movesets. Mega Diancie has a whopping 342 attack, allowing it to deal huge damage with either of its attacks. Its best fast attack is Rock Throw, which will enable it to build its charged attack pretty quickly, called Moonblast.

Despite not having a Fairy-type Fast attack, Moonblast does enough damage, thanks to Mega Diancie's high attack stat, to make up for it. This makes Mega Diancie an excellent choice for any Fairy-type teams.

5 Mega Gallade

Despite Its Typing, Charm Pulls Through

Mega Gallade is a Fighting and Psychic-type Pokemon, but the fact that it can learn Charm as a Fast attack and its beefy 326 attack stat earns it its spot on the list as a strong Fairy-type fighter. Alongside Charm, Mega Gallade should learn Psychic for its Charged attack, allowing it to deal pretty hefty chunks of damage. It attacks quickly as well, meaning it has higher uptime on its Charged attack than some other Fairy-type alternatives.

The Charm/Psychic combo should deal with around 18 damages per second, which is up there in of overall damage. It's outclassed in the Psychic-type and Fighting-type categories in of overall useability, and it lacks the STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) that Fairy-type Pokemon get when they use Fairy-type attacks. Either way, its high overall stats mean pretty respectable damage, though there are absolutely better choices for a top-tier Fairy-type team.

As can be deduced from the acronym STAB, or Same Type Attack Bonus, an attack will deal more damage when its type matches the type of the Pokémon using it.

4 Zacian (Hero of Many Battles)

High And Excellent DPS

Zacian is a legendary Fairy-type Pokemon with a max Combat Power of 4329 and an attack of 254. It doesn't have the highest attack stat of all the Legendaries nor the strongest Fairy-type Pokemon, but its Snarl/Play Rough move combo makes it a formidable opponent. It's only weak to the typical Fairy-type counters of Poison and Steel, while it's strong against Bug, Dark, Fighting, and Dragon.

Despite its lack of Fairy-type Fast attack, Zacian is still a highly-valued Raid and PvP attacker, although its Fairy-type attacks are less valuable in the PvP setting. It can learn many types of attacks, making it difficult for opponents to prepare for. Additionally, it has the benefit of being a reliable jack-of-all-trades Pokemon to have in your back pocket. Whether or not you choose to use the Play Rough Charged attack or another, like Wild Charge, Zacian will deal good damage while also holding its own defensively.

3 Xerneas

One Elite Fast TM To Make Xerneas A Damage Machine

Xerneas can learn many different kinds of moves, but its strongest moveset is inarguably the Geomancy/Giga Impact combo. Together, they put out around 16 DPS, while its Geomancy/Moonblast combo only outputs around 15. The difference of one damage, however, is pretty marginal; if Fairy-type is what you're after, Geomancy and Moonblast will net you a nice STAB as well as type-strength over Bug-, Dragon-, Fighting-, and Dark-type Pokemon.

One of Xerneas' best counters is Mega Gengar with Sludge Bomb, so keep an eye out for it as well as any other Poison-types when heading into battle.

In order for Xerneas to learn Geomancy, you'll need an Elite Fast TM. Like the Elite Charged TMs, these devices are required for Pokemon to learn certain, more powerful attacks in whichever attack type they're for. Unlike typical TMs, Elite TMs allow you to choose which attack your Pokemon will learn, so there's no need to grind them out once you have the Pokemon with the attacks you need.

2 Mega Alakazam

It's Not A Fairy Type, But Consider...

Despite its total lack of Fairy-Typing, Mega Alakazam is a powerhouse in many areas, Fairy-type battles being one of them. It's got an astounding 367 attack and a respectable 207 defense, making it a good choice even when it doesn't have Type advantage. Despire being one of the strongest Psychic-types, it's still weak to Bug, Dark, and Ghost, as well as resistant to Fighting- and other Psychic-types.

When it comes to moveset, Mega Alakazam should learn Confusion and Dazzling Gleam if you're running it for Fairy-type purposes. Confusion is by far its strongest Fast attack, although it's also the slowest. Dazzling Gleam is the only Fairy-type attack it learns, but it charges quickly thanks to Confusion's high energy generation potential. Though it's not technically a Fairy-type, there's just too much going for Mega Alakazam to leave it out of the conversation.

1 Gardevoir

Mega, Shadow, Or Even Just Regular Gardevoir Sweeps

There are a lot of arguments to be made about the best Fairy-types in Pokemon Go, but most would agree that Gardevoir is one of the most reliable in of damage. Whether you've got Mega Gardevoir, Shadow Gardevoir, or normal Gardevoir, this Psychic and Fairy-type Pokemon will be a consistent damage dealer for your squad. You'll want the classic Charm/Dazzling Gleam duo for outright Fairy-type damage, but this combo isn't the only thing Gardevoir has to offer.

If you want to get the most out of your Gardevoir's attacks, consider Charm and Psychic or Confusion and Psychic when heading into battle. Both of these sets of attacks get STABs, so you're going to be doing heavy damage either way, but it will depend on the type of matchup you're anticipating. Because Gardevoir is such a powerhouse in any form, you have quite a few options. Either way, you go, you should be served well by your Gardevoir, as she's considered the best Fairy-type in Pokemon GO.
