Niantic has revealed Pokémon GO's October 2022 events, and a handful of popular Legendary Pokémon from the Sinnoh and Kalos regions will make their return to the mobile game. Pokémon GO's Season of Light kicked off in September, and was announced to be a three-month event that would run throughout Autumn. Players who participate in the festivities' October events will get a chance to encounter rare Legendary Pokémon such as Giratina, Xerneas, and Yveltal.
The Season of Light update was officially rolled out in Pokémon GO on September 1, 2022, and will continue to run until Wednesday, November 23 at 10:00 AM local time. Just like previous seasons, the star-themed event has a refresh every month that adds new weekly Spotlight Hours and Raid Battles to the mobile title. For the second month of Season of Light players will get to look forward to the annual Festival of Light, as well as a special Halloween event that will take over Pokémon GO for an entire week.
Trainers who missed out on the Pokémon GO Luminous Legends Events in 2021, will get a second chance to score Pokémon X and Y Legendaries Xerneas & Yveltal in a series of October 5-star Raid battles. Niantic is also bringing back the powerful Sinnoh Legendary Giratina as well, and players will even get a chance to catch both its Origin and Altered Forme. - October 26: Shuppet with 2x XP for evolving Pokémon (Players who bring their Buddy Pokémon will witness something special at the beginning and end of this Spotlight Hour)
Players have a lot to look forward to in October, as the Autumn month will conclude with an epic Halloween Pokémon GO October Community Day that will feature Pokémon Black and White favorite Litwick. Trainers participating in the Spooky community event will have a chance to catch Litwick in its rare Shiny variant. The Pokémon GO Season of Light festivities will have one last month in November, before being replaced with the game's Christmas-themed "Holidays 2022 Event" starting in December.
