The King’s Rock in Eevee with certain nicknames evolve into specific Pokémon. Then there are the Pokémon that will only evolve using specific items.
There are several items in the game that are used in evolving Pokémon, and The King’s Rock is only one of them. Others include the Sun Stone, Metal Coat, Dragon Scale, Upgrade, Sinnoh Stone, and Unova Stone. Even the special Lures in Pokémon Go have uses as evolution items, in addition to attracting certain types of Pokémon.
Right now, the King’s Rock can evolve two Pokémon in the game. Poliwhirl will evolve into Politoed with the King’s Rock and the addition of 100 Poliwag candy. The King’s Rock also evolves Slowpoke into Slow King with the addition of 50 Slowpoke candy. The issue here is that getting the King’s Rock can be a bit of a challenge depending on where a player lives and how active players are in Pokémon Go.
A Slim Chance of Getting A King’s Rock In Pokémon Go
The way that players can get a King’s Rock in Pokémon Go is through spinning Pokéstops. The chances of getting one are extremely low though, less than 1%, but if players play regularly and can spin several Pokéstops a day, it shouldn’t take too long to be able to get one. Since it was released in 2016, Niantic, the developers of Pokémon Go, added more Pokéstops through deals with Starbucks and other sponsorships.
There is an easier way to reliably get a King’s Rock though. If players spin Pokéstops every day for an entire week, on the seventh day they are guaranteed to get one of the evolution items. However, which one they get is random, so they may see several Sun Stones or Dragon Scales before they finally get a King’s Rock.
It all boils down to playing Pokémon Go more and sooner or later, players will find themselves in possession of one or more King’s Rocks. That is one of the issues with Pokémon Go though, those who can play the game frequently will have no problem. It is more complicated for players who live in remote areas without a lot of Pokéstops, or players who can’t play every day. Unfortunately, there’s no way around that other than using cheats that might result in getting banned. For these players, perhaps one of the myriads of other Pokémon games out there is a better fit, as they don’t require such dedication.
Pokémon Go is available on Android and iOS.
