Dynamax Sableye is the latest Pokémon to make its debut in monthly Raid Boss schedule. If you do miss it on Max Monday, it will be available in regular Max Battles from May 19 to May 26.

Max Mondays take place every Monday between 6pm and 7pm local time, with Dynamax Sableye being in the spotlight on Monday, May 19, 2025. During this hour, only Sableye will be featured at Power Spots, greatly increasing trainers chances of being able to challenge it on multiple occasions in Max Battles. It not only marks its first appearance in Max Mondays, but the first day it appears in Dynamax form in Pokémon GO. Sableye is one of a number of Pokémon to feature in Max Mondays across May.

Dynamax Sableye Weakness & Resistances In Pokémon GO

Only One Weakness To Target

Dynamax Sableye is especially tricky to defeat because of its dual Dark- and Ghost-type. The biggest key to victory in Pokémon GO Max Battles is knowing the raid bosses' weaknesses as well as the type of attacks that it resists. Due to its typing, Dynamax Sableye is only weak against one type of attack in Pokémon GO, Fairy. Any attacks that are Fairy-types will deal an extra 60% damage compared to any standard moves.

Gastly should not provide too many problems for Pokémon GO trainers on Max Monday, but you should use the best counters to make the battle easier.

While the majority of other types of attack will all do base damage, some types are also resisted by Dynamax Sableye, meaning they do less damage to it. Fighting- or Poison- type attacks are both resisted by Sableye and do 37.5% less damage. However, Normal- and Psychic-type attacks do even less damage, 60.9%, compared to any other type of move.

For all Max Battles, you can only use Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon, which greatly limits the number of options you have to select from.

The above numbers make it vital that if you don't have Fairy-type Pokémon that you can use, you should at least stay away from using Fighting, Poison, Normal, or Psychic-type attackers, as these will greatly reduce your chances of defeating Dynamax Sableye. For all Max Battles, including Dynamax Sableye, you need to select three Pokémon, but you can take them on alongside up to three other players using Remote Raids.

Dynamax Sableye Best Counters In Pokémon GO

No Super Effective Attacks

Dynamax Sableye is one of the rarest Dynamax Pokémon available in Pokémon GO, in that currently, no Pokémon that you can use has attacks that are super-effective against it. You can only use Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon in Max Battles and currently, none have been released for players to capture. There are also no Pokémon that have been released in these forms which can be given a Fairy-type move.

Despite no Fairy-types being available, Dynamax Sableye is still an easy battle that can be done by solo players, due to it being just a tier one Max Battle.

With no super-effective types available, your best options are to select other strong attackers, which Dynamax Sableye doesn't resist. Dynamax Metagross is regarded as one of the strongest Pokémon available, with its Steel-type attacks being powerful. Likewise, the three Legendary Generation One birds, Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno, all have strong move sets. Finally, Gigantamax Gengar and Charizard can also quickly overpower Sableye.

Despite having no weaknesses that you can currently take advantage of, Dynamax Sableye can quickly be defeated by solo players in Pokémon GO using the strongest attacking options. Be sure to catch it when it arrives as part of Max Mondays, starting May 19, 2025.
