Dynamax Falinks makes its return to Max Battles in first Pokémon released in Dynamax form last year in Pokémon GO. When it initially came out, it was the first 3-star Max Battle the game offered, making it a very tough Pokémon to beat. However, now there are a lot more options to use in your team, making it a much easier Dynamax Pokémon to take down.

Max Monday's are a weekly promotion that takes place in Pokémon GO, each highlighting one Dynamax Pokémon for an hour between 6pm and 7pm local time. During this time, only one Pokémon will appear at Power Spots for Max Battles. Dynamax Falinks is featured in Max Mondays on Monday, April 28, 2025. From the same date, Dynamax Falinks will also be featured in the regular Raid Boss schedule until 5 May. You can challenge Dynamax Falinks at Power Spots as many times as you want during the hour as long as you have enough Max Particles.

Three Weaknesses To Target

Dynamax Falinks is stronger than its appearance would suggest. Despite not looking like one, it is a pure Fighting- type Pokémon. Due to this, it has three weaknesses which you should look to take advantage of to make the Max Battle as easy as possible. Dynamax Falinks takes additional damage from Fairy-, Flying- and Psychic-type attacks. When picking your team, you can use up to three Pokémon, including choosing which goes first, meaning you should always lead with a good counter against Falinks.

Falinks takes an additional 60% damage from all Fairy-, Flying- and Psychic-type attacks.

As well as being weak to certain types of attacks, Dynamax Falinks also resits several other types of attacks. That means it takes less damage from them, and these types should be avoided at all costs when trying to take it down. It resists Bug-, Dark- and Rock-type attacks, and takes 37.5% less damage from them. Dynamax Falinks follows on from Dynamax Sobble on Max Mondays last week, but it provides a much tougher test for trainers, requiring you to pick the right team if you take it on as a solo player.

The hardest factor in Max Battles is that you can only use your own Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon. Previously, when Falinks was featured in Max Battles, there were only a handful of Pokémon that you could pick from to use, and none were super-effective against it. Now, though, there are a lot of options to choose from. There are no Fairy-type Pokémon that have been released as Dynamax versions yet, but there are lots of Flying- and Psychic-types you can use.

Pokémon GO: Best Teams For Great League, Ultra League, and Master League

In The Great League, Ultra League and Master League in Pokemon GO it is vital you use the best teams to have a chance of winning regularly.

One of the best options is Dynamax Metagross. The dual Steel- and Psychic-type can learn all of the best Psychic-type moves. Its first evolution stage Beldum, was available to catch in Dynamax form last year and you can use any candies you previously have from its regular form to evolve it into Metagross. It is so strong against Dynamax Falinks, that if you have more than one, it can be worth using two in your team.

Dynamax Falinks is a three star Max Battle, so you can beat it solo, but three super-effective Pokémon are needed. You can also take on this Max Battle with multiple players, which will make defeating it much easier.

There are no pure Dynamax Flying-type Pokémon, but there are a number of dual Flying-types that are powerhouses that can be super effective against Falinks. These are led by the three Gen 1 Legendary birds, Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltres. Moltres is the best option of the three as it can be given fast and charged Flying-type attacks, but all can do the job.

In Max Battles, Pokémon's moves differ to normal attacks, in that they are pre-selected based on their type. Before entering the battle, you need to ensure your Pokémon has the type of attack that you want to use against Dynamax Falinks.

A final useful option is Unfezant, with the Normal- and Flying-type having access to a host of moves that have an advantage over Falinks. None of the best options have been released yet in Gigantamax form, but the Dynamax versions are more than capable of doing the job. Dynamax Falinks is one of the harder regular Max Battles on offer, making it vital you use Psychic-, Flying-, or Fairy-type attacks to make the battle easier in Pokémon GO.
