Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pearl will be remaking Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, which gives them a chance to restore an amazing piece of content that was cut from the original games. Pokémon Diamond and Pearl were originally meant to include a battle against Arceus, but it was never made accessible.

In the Pokémon series, the difference between Legendary Pokémon and Mythical Pokémon is how they're acquired. Legendary Pokémon can be acquired over the course of the game, like the Legendary Birds of Kanto or Mewtwo. Mythical Pokémon are acquired with the aid of outside assistance, such as needing to travel to real-life events to trade for a Mew. It has become a lot easier to acquire Mythical Pokémon over the years, as The Pokémon Company will distribute them as part of online events, such as Zarude being locked behind special codes sent out by stores.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl introduced Arceus the god Pokémon to the series. There is a secret event involving Arceus in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl that cannot be accessed through regular means. The developers of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have the chance to include the hidden battle with Arceus in the Hall of Origin. Arceus might be the mascot of its own game, but it was done dirty by the developers of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

Climbing The Stairway To Heaven

The god of all pokemon arceus

According to but it was never released. It's possible to hack the item into the player's inventory using a cheat device, such as a GameShark. If the player travels to the Spear Pillar with the Azure Flute, then it will play a haunting melody and conjure a set of stairs. A battle with a level 80 Arceus awaits at the top of the stairs, along with the chance to catch it. A video of the entire sequence can be seen on the SatoMew YouTube channel.

The question of why the Azure Flute was never distributed was brought up by Nintendo World Report during an interview with Pokémon Diamond and Pearl director Junichi Masuda. According to Masuda, the reason the Azure Flute was never released was that he thought it would be confusing to the player. This doesn't make much sense, considering the player only has to take the flute to the Spear Pillar. It has been speculated that the event was cut due to its religious symbolism, as the player has to climb a stairway to a place that looks like Heaven and fight a Pokémon that is strongly hinted to be a god.

Fans will have a chance to return to the Sinnoh region this year, as Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are remakes of the Generation IV games. The developers of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have the chance to include this event in all of its glory, even if it does mean toning down how it worked or its allusions to religion. Even if it can't be accessed in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, then it should at least appear in Pokémon Legends: Arceus as the final battle of the game.
