The narrative of this game sounds relatively simple, but with its intense action and likeable characters, not to mention the game's amazing gunplay, it's a fantastic title to spend time with.

DOOM Eternal makes the first-person shooter genre look like an artform, which is the reason it's on this list. The combat is hectic and fast-paced in the best ways possible and, with a roaring music accompaniment, makes the player feel like they really are shredding through the forces of Hell. The weapons are varied and impactful too, and they get even more useful with special abilities and upgrades as players progress.

This means that weapons like a simple machine gun can become a high-powered sniper rifle, or even have tracking rockets attached to the sides in the future. DOOM Eternal's combat is also accompanied by a story where the main character, the Doom Slayer, must drive back the forces of hell from Earth and put a stop to the one who set them free, the Khan Maykr.
