Another month means another group of monthly free games coming to the PlayStation Plus service, and this April batch includes a RoboCop game, a Digimon title, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre's asymmetrical multiplayer, creating a pretty diverse package for the month. All monthly games are available to at no additional cost for all tiers of the PlayStation Plus service, and only one of the titles this month is a PS5-only game, so there should be a lot to enjoy for people on both PS4 and PS5.
As reported on PlayStation Blog, the monthly free PlayStation Plus games are RoboCop: Rogue City, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. While none of these games are particularly new, with the latest release being RoboCop: Rogue City back in 2023, this package of games could have gone under the radar for a lot of players, so now could be the perfect time to check them all out. All three games will be available to from April 1 until May 5.
RoboCop, Digimon, & The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Are An Interesting Line-Up
Something For Everyone
April's line-up seems to have something for everyone. RoboCop: Rogue City lets players wield and upgrade the powers of the legendary RoboCop from a first-person perspective, with the story taking place between the events of RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3 and the game features the film's original actor, Peter Weller, so fans are sure to enjoy its narrative.
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory sees players jump into the role of Keisuke Amazawa and team up with hackers in order to prove his innocence after being accused of committing a crime. The game also expands on the backstory and events of Digimon Story: Cyber Slueth, so this is a great pickup for Digimon fans.

PlayStation Plus 2026 Plans Prove Sony Is Finally Embracing The PS5, 5 Years Too Late
Sony has redoubled its for the PS5 with a major new PlayStation Plus decision, but with the PS6 on the horizon, it seems too little, too late.
Rounding out the April catalog is an asymmetrical horror game, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which lets players take on the roles of both victims and killers from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise in 4v3-style multiplayer. As a prequel to the original film, the game expands the lore and roles of several characters of the long-running franchise, so players can opt in for some fun multiplayer action if single-player games aren't up their alley.
April's Choices Seem To Be More Typical
March May Have Been An Anomaly
The selections for April's free PlayStation Plus games are a little bit more typical of what we've seen from previous months - games that have been out for a while that may have gotten overlooked at various times. It makes the games that were selected for March seem like an anomaly rather than the norm. March's PlayStation Plus line-up was headlined by Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which released fairly recently back in October 2024, and was BioWare's first major release since Mass Effect Legendary Edition. The game's release and aftermath put the future of Dragon Age in question, though, since it didn't meet financial expectations.
No matter the case, April's PlayStation Plus free games should have something for everyone. Players will also have until March 31 to claim Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Sonic Colors: Ultimate, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection before this new lineup is center stage.
