The rumored PlayStation show has been confirmed to be happening, the big question is what games will actually be featured. Several big PlayStation titles have been announced that we've seen little of, and there is allegedly a "big announcement" in store at the show, according to some pre-show rumors and industry insiders.

The June State of Play will be at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT and will be streamed on both PlayStation's official YouTube and Twitch s. There hasn't been any direct confirmation about what will be shown at the event, but the PlayStation Blog's announcement stated: "The show highlights a selection of great games from creators across the globe." While we don't know for certain, there are several predictions I think are at least somewhat likely for tomorrow's show.

10 Marvel's Wolverine Has Been Announced For A While

We Could Finally Get A Release Window

Marvel's Wolverine was announced three years ago, and we have heard little of the game since. Developer Insomniac Games, the studio behind the Marvel's Spider-Man series, has stated that it's waiting on the right time to show the game. Now that Spider-Man 2 has been out for over a year, it feels like time for Insomniac's next project to get the spotlight.

Insomniac is a first-party subsidiary of Sony, so Marvel's Wolverine is another PlayStation 5 exclusive. The State of Play could be the best time to show a gameplay trailer, or at least another cinematic trailer and a release window. The gamer suffered some early leaks a while ago, but other than that, very little is known about the game.

9 Could The Rumored Untitled Venom Game Be Real?

Maybe Venom Will Be Insomniac's Next Project Instead

Unlike the first Marvel's Spider-Man game from Insomnic, will not get any DLC. However, a meaty side game, similar to the Miles Morales game, could be on the table for 2025. The unconfirmed Venom title was part of the massive Insomniac data breach that leaked Wolverine gameplay and other Insomniac projects.

The alleged Venom game is rumored to continue the Carnage storyline that is left unresolved in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

It's possible the leaked Venom game could get an announcement at the State of Play. Venom is briefly playable in Spider-Man 2, so it seems like groundwork has been laid for him to be playable at some point, and it the third mainline Spider-Man game is presumably still a ways away.

8 Silent Hill 2 Remake Born From A Wish DLC Could Come In Time For The Game's Anniversary

The Game Was A Big Success

The Silent Hill 2 remake released to glowing reviews and a positive fan response, spurred by the game's faithfulness to the source material, the stellar sound design, the gripping narrative, the thought-provoking puzzles, and the modernized gameplay. One of the most notable missing parts of the game was the Born From A Wish Maria-focused game mode from the Xbox release of the original game.

After The Success Of The Silent Hill 2 Remake, Bloober Has Revealed The Release Window For Cronos: The New Dawn

The Silent Hill 2 remake has laid the groundwork for Bloober Team’s next game - Cronos: The New Dawn, which finally has a release window.

After the success of Bloober Team horror titles like Layers of Fear and Observer, the Silent Hill 2 remake sold more than two million copies, serving as another feather in the studio's cap. However, the studio may not have the time for the DLC. Bloober Team recently signed a new deal with Konami, and it's also developing Cronos: The New Dawn and another game currently called "Project R." While Born From A Wish isn't impossible, juggling this many projects at once would require a lot of manpower.

7 Jurassic Park: Survival Could Be Good Cross-Promotion With The New Film

Jurassic Park Rebirth Is Releasing In July

Jurassic Park: Survival was announced at The Game Awards 2023 as a survival horror game with an emphasis on stealth over combat, but updates on the game have been quiet since. The game is set one day after the events of the original film and is played from a first-person perspective.

The new Jurassic World Rebirth film is set for release on July 2, so this may be the perfect time to reveal more information about Survival and put Jurassic Park back in people's minds, as well as cross-promote both pieces of media. With so little information, however, it seems unlikely the game will release this summer.

6 Judas Is Still Missing In Action

The Game Was Originally Slated For March 2025

Judas is a spiritual successor to Bioshock, created by Bioshock director and System Shock 2 designer Ken Levine. Initially slated for a March 2025 release, Judas's original launch window has come and gone, and no new information about the game has been revealed recently.

"Computers Do Not Know How To Improv": BioShock Director's New Project Judas Will Not Use AI

BioShock lead developer Ken Levine speaks about his studio's new project, Judas, revealing that AI will not be used in the development process.

The game was announced at The Game Awards 2022, and while we have seen gameplay that seems very similar to Bioshock, the game's status since then has been questionable. The State of Play could be a time to address the now-ed release window and put it back in fans' minds.

5 Gears Of War Reloaded Gameplay On PS5 Could Be A Showstopper

The State Of Play Is The Perfect Place To Show The Former Xbox-Exclusive Title

Gears of War: Reloaded, a remaster of the original Gears of War, will be coming to PS5. The game is set for release on August 26, so the State of Play might be the perfect place to show the former Xbox flagship title running on the PS5. Microsoft has been experimenting more with cross-promotion across platforms, recently showing a PlayStation logo in an Xbox showcase for the first time. Gears of War sticking to the Xbox Games Showcase might still be more likely, but a State of Play appearance isn't impossible.

Gears of War: Relaoded will run in 4K, 120 FPS, and include cross-progression and crossplay for multiplayer across all platforms. This could be the first time many PlayStation fans will play Gears of War, so it seems like the chance of it showing up tomorrow before its August release is pretty likely.

4 More Death Stranding 2 Gameplay Or A Launch Trailer Seems Likely

The Game Is Just A Few Weeks Away

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is PlayStation's big summer game. While it's confirmed to appear later in the official Summer Game Fest event, it seems likely that part of PlayStation's show will also be used to highlight the game again. There's been quite a lot of footage recently from a massive preview event, where select media representatives got to play around 30 hours of the game.

From internal testing, legendary game creator Hideo Kojima has stated players already prefer the sequel over its predecessor. A reminder that the game comes out soon, with either a launch trailer or additional footage, seems like a safe bet for the State of Play.

3 Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Might Get A Teaser

The Game Seems Further Along Than Initially Thought

Even though Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth just released last February, there have been several rumors that the final part of the trilogy is quite a bit further along than many fans may have expected. Cloud's voice actor recently recorded audio dialogue, and Rebirth established the game's world, scope, gameplay, and more, so the turnaround time should be faster than it was for Remake to Rebirth.

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake project is confirmed to be a trilogy, and the gap in time between the release of Remake and Rebirth was four years. Director Naoki Hamaguchi previously revealed much of the work on the third game was already complete.

A full trailer seems unlikely, but a tease of the game's logo and official title and perhaps a peek at a part of the game aren't impossible. The FF crossover with Magic: The Gathering has also revealed some information about part three, so an appearance at the State of Play would make sense, on top of Square Enix notoriously announcing titles a bit early in development.

2 It Might Finally Be Time To Show Off Ghost Of Yotei

The Game Has Surprisingly Little Footage Out There

Ghost of Yotei has had a strange marketing cycle. The game has barely had any gameplay footage, despite being confirmed for an October 2 release. The follow-up to the widely successful Ghost of Tsushima is likely going to get a marketing blitz soon, for its fall release, so it wouldn't be surprising to finally see more in-depth gameplay of the title.

Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yotei is set to feature the studio’s largest open world to date, and you’ll have free rein in how to progress through it.

PlayStation has shared details about gameplay changes, including updated open-world elements and plenty of new combat options, but the trailers have focused more on the narrative than extended looks at the gameplay. As far as we know, Ghost of Yotei seems to be one of PlayStation's few AAA fall releases. An extended look at the State of Play would likely keep fans busy until the game's full release.

1 Resident Evil 9 May Finally Be Revealed

The Rumor Mill Has Been Churning For The Anticipated Sequel

Earlier this week, several rumors stated Resident Evil 9 would have a "90 percent" chance at getting revealed this week, with details provided by known RE leaker AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem on X. In conjunction with additional rumors of new Capcom RE projects, it seems likely that there's more than just hearsay at play here, setting up a strong likelihood that RE9 appears at an event in the vicinity of Summer Game Fest.

Next Two Resident Evil Remakes & Release Windows Teased By Leaker

A reliable leaker claims to know when the next Resident Evil remakes - as well as the next mainline game, Resident Evil 9 - might come out.

There are several major game events happening this week, so RE9 could be at any of them. State of Play's odds are upped by the reveal strategy for Resident Evil 4 remake, which was announced at a State of Play in June 2022. With PlayStation allegedly being cagey and purportedly having a big announcement for the show, my take is the most likely event for Resident Evil 9's showcase will be the June 4 State of Play event.
