The Intolerant Officer resides in the Steamy Bathhouse after players have already cleared this area in Persona 4 Golden, serving as an optional boss for great rewards and upgrades to the protagonist's stats should they be defeated. Despite progress toward the Bathhouse being reset before players re-enter the dungeon for this boss, those who commit enough time to take down the Intolerant Officer are granted extra points in Courage, as well as an Iron Plate weapon that Kanji can wield. However, the Intolerant Officer may be a challenge without careful consideration to their abilities and skills.
Right from the start, an important factor to note about the Intolerant Officer comes from two skills named Bufula and Garula, which deal damage from the Ice and Wind elements respectfully. These damaging attacks will automatically be the Officer's focus should the player bring any party with a weakness to either skill type. For example, Yukiko in Persona 4 Golden has a particular disadvantage against Ice, so the Intolerant Officer would constantly use Bufula against her until she quickly goes down. While players are frankly able to bring whomever they desire to the fight, it is recommended to only have the protagonist Yu, Chie, and Yosuke to avoid these risks.
Defeating the Intolerant Officer in Persona 4 Golden
A clear weakness of the Intolerant Officer lies in skills that utilize the Electric element, even though the boss does take slightly reduced damage from this property. Players need to also recognize the resistance this secret enemy has against Almighty and All-Out Attack damage due to an innate advantage against Almighty strikes.
While it may be tempting to earn the raised Courage in Persona 4 Golden as soon as possible by grouping up for big damage against the Intolerant Officer when its weakness has been exploited, it may be better to stay back and heal as the player might benefit most from a drawn out fight.
The other two skills the Intolerant Officer has are Poison Skewer and Single Shot, which both deal a noticeable amount of Physical Damage to a singular target. The former attack has a slight chance to Poison, keeping players on their toes with a dangerous possibility. Players that have Yu equip a Persona with high resistance to Physical will have a much easier time in this boss fight, as the Intolerant Officer becomes a simple boss to beat in Persona 4 Golden with enough foresight.
