Perfect Match season 2 has been officially confirmed. Netflix took reality dating show fans by surprise at the start of 2023 by announcing the cast lineup of this brand-new show. Unique on its own, Perfect Match season 1 featured a lengthy list of already-seen-before reality TV personalities of all sorts. The contestants came from major shows like The Circle, Love Is Blind, and Too Hot To Handle, to name a few. Many of the cast were familiar with one another, and some even had prior flings. The relationships were unsuccessful in their entirety, but excitement and drama were surely delivered.
It's now official: Perfect Match season 2 has been renewed. In an Instagram post, @perfectmatchnetflix made the long-awaited official announcement themselves. The photo included eight blurred faces of contestants with question marks over their faces, captioned, “WE’RE BACK!”
The comments blew up immediately with fans submitting their casting requests. “I hope Paul is on there! And Marshall!” one wrote. Bartise Bowden claimed to be recruited by Perfect Match almost immediately after Love Is Blind season 3, leaving it open and likely for some Love Is Blind season 4 participants to . Others added their hope for a Perfect Match season 1 reunion.
Twentysomethings Weirdly Confirms Perfect Match Renewal First
Oddly enough, Perfect Match wasn’t the first to announce its own renewal confirmation. The Instagram for the dating show Twentysomethings: Austin beat Perfect Match to the punch. With confidence, @twentysomethings added the same photo that Perfect Match did in theirs, captioned, “Perfect Match is coming back for Season 2! Who from Twentysomethings cast do you want to see find their match?” This is strange and possibly the first time this has happened. The assumption would be that other shows are not made aware of confirmation until after the show makes its official announcement first, but apparently, that’s not the case.
The Instagram announcement did not include a projected release date or the lineup of former reality TV stars to be featured for Perfect Match season 2. Uberfans and Internet sleuths have placed predictions as to when the next season will air, and their calculated guess is spring 2024. Perfect Match season 1, as noted previously and widely understood, was a major failure with its intention of matchmaking based on compatibility. Many of the contestants were accused of ing just for personal marketing. The hope and smart decision would be for Perfect Match to better vet those genuinely looking to leave with a partner.
Reality TV fanatics can take a deep breath as Perfect Match has officially been renewed. Nick Lachey was unsurprisingly the assigned host for Perfect Match season 1 and will likely return, though that wasn’t confirmed in the announcement. The cast release will be exciting, with Love Is Blind season 4 having just ended, and former stars that were not recruited now being aware of it. Whether Netflix entertains cast request submissions is unknown, but there are definitely a select few who should battle it out for their compatible partner.
