Warning: Spoilers for Peacemaker episode 7

new Task Force X team against new aliens known as Butterflies.

The hunt for the Butterflies was once again at the focus of Peacemaker episode 7. The story picks up immediately after the Butterfly-infested police discover the Peacemaker diary Leota Adabayo (Danielle Brooks) planted in his home. While Peacemaker wants to deal with the cops on his own, he, Vigilante (Freddie Stroma), and John Economos (Steve Agee) are instead faced with White Dragon (Robert Patrick) and his minions hunting them down. That leaves Clemson Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji), Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), and Adebayo to deal with the Butterflies, who ultimately kill Murn for betraying the aliens. It leaves Task Force X to regroup ahead of Peacemaker's finale as they prepare to go find the aliens' cow.

Although much of Peacemaker episode 7 is focused on the story at hand, James Gunn also included a few DC Easter eggs. The show has not been shy at including various references to the comics, which includes making obscure characters like Kite-Man and Bat-Mire part of the DCEU canon. There have also been name-drops for Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Aquaman, although none of the Justice League have appeared. "Stop Dragon My Heart Around" doesn't have as many major references as some past episodes, but here are all of the Peacemaker episode 7 Easter eggs.

Peacemaker's Episode 6 Piano Song Returns

John Cena playing piano in Peacemaker

The very beginning of Peacemaker episode 7 includes a new connection to the end of episode 6. The previous episode concluded with John Cena's Peacemaker playing a song on the piano. It was a surprisingly touching moment for the show as the DC character put his own twist on Motley Crew's "Home Sweet Home." Despite Cena's piano playing skills, it was not immediately clear why the song was chosen. Peacemaker episode 7 explains the deeper meaning behind the song choice, as "Home Sweet Home" was the last song Chris listened to with his brother before he died. "Stop Dragon My Heart Around" begins with the two boys jamming out to Motley Crew's song talking about their future, one that doesn't come for Keith tragically.

White Dragon's Powers

One of the biggest moments in Peacemaker episode 7 is the opportunity for Auggie Smith to finally put the White Dragon suit to use and demonstrate its powers. Despite previously seeing the suit, it was unclear how the show would bring White Dragon's powers to the DCEU. The comic's version of the character has fire-based powers that allow him to shoot flames out of his hands, which the suit helps control. White Dragon's powers are a bit different in Peacemaker, though. His powers appear to be entirely dependent on the suit and more energy-based than fire. The change isn't too different in of what he can do, as his heated energy blasts are still enough to blast holes through vehicles. He also has increased strength and the ability to fly thanks to a few different boosters.

James Gunn's Love of Raccoons

It shouldn't be surprising that James Gunn also managed to include a raccoon in Peacemaker episode 7. The writer/director is well-known for his love of animals, but raccoons have become a more important creature to him through recent years. This is largely due to Gunn's involvement in Guardians of the Galaxy for Marvel Studios, where Rocket Raccoon is a central character. Gunn has been quite open that Rocket is the character he most relates to out of the franchise's characters. While Rocket specifically isn't in Peacemaker, episode 7 included a raccoon as part of Chris' plan to confuse White Dragon's goons about his location. It might seem coincidental at first (and may ultimately be), but since any woodland creature could've filled this role, the decision to use a raccoon feels purposeful.

Raiders of the Last Ark Homage

It also seems Peacemaker episode 7 includes a reference to the first Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark. After Peacemaker is able to evade White Dragon's gang, he meets back up with Vigilante and John to drive away from them. It is only then that they realize that Steven Spielberg's movie here.

Peacemaker's Facial Exercises

Peacemaker Episode 7 John Cena Crying Facial Exercise

Peacemaker episode 7 also includes a callback to earlier mentions of Peacemaker's facial exercises. After Peacemaker kills his father in the episode, he falls to his knees and begins crying. However, Vigilante interrupts this emotional moment to question why Chris is doing facial exercises right now. This is a callback to Peacemaker episode 2 when Vigilante surprises Peacemaker at his home and catches him crying. Chris deflects to cover up his emotional side and says that he's doing facial exercises, which Vigilante clearly doesn't do due to his skinny face. Vigilante mentioning the facial exercises again proves just how gullible he is when it comes to believing what Peacemaker says.

Is The Butterflies' Cow From The Comics?

Peacemaker Episode 7 Butterfly Cow

There has also been a big build-up in recent episodes to discover what Peacemaker's Butterflies' mission and plan was and how their cow factored in. Peacemaker episode 7 provides the first look at the Butterflies' cow at the end, and the early indication is that it is an original creation for the show. The cow isn't a match for any known DC aliens or creatures. It isn't too surprising that the show decided to forgo a DC Comics connection in this case, though, since the Butterflies are also original creations. While Peacemaker episode 7 and the show as a whole has various DC Easter eggs, this isn't one of them.
