Warning: Contains spoilers for Peacemaker episodes 1-3.

Each of the first three episodes of DC’s The Suicide Squad as the DCEU introduces their very first TV series. While DC already has many TV shows ongoing, they take place in alternate timelines or universes, most notably the Arrowverse, rather than in the DCEU timeline. Teases from DC and James Gunn suggest that Peacemaker might just be the first of many DCEU TV series with other of The Suicide Squad cast possibly returning for future shows.

Alongside John Cena’s titular character, Peacemaker brings back multiple other characters from The Suicide Squad: Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. The TV show also introduces a large ing cast of new characters including new Argus agents, of the local police force, Peacemaker's friends and family, and residents of the local community. Peacemaker sees Argus recapture Peacemaker and force him to help them take down a new world-threatening problem. Project Butterfly pits Peacemaker and the team against the strange and powerful Butterflies and their worldwide plan.

Post-credits scenes in superhero content might be most associated with Marvel and the MCU after they popularized the idea with Iron Man. However, it makes a lot of sense for Peacemaker to include multiple post-credits scenes as the TV show itself was set up by post-credits scene that revealed that Peacemaker was still alive. While post-credits scenes have often been used to set up a future plot, in Peacemaker, they almost exclusively give an extra glimpse into the details of the episode. Here is what happens in each of Peacemaker’s post-credits scenes.

Peacemaker, Episode 1, “A Whole New Whirled”

Peacemaker Episode 1 Post Credits Helmets White Dragon

In Peacemaker episode 1, “A Whole New Whirled,” Christopher Smith/Peacemaker briefly escapes from the hospital before being informed that he would now be working on Project Butterfly for Argus. Before getting set up on the mission, he heads to his dad’s house to pick up his pet eagle, Eagly (yes, James Gunn confirmed that’s how it’s spelled). Peacemaker’s father, Auggie Smith (Robert Patrick), reveals his secret closet of super-powered tech and gives Peacemaker a new helmet after explaining the powers of several of them including a full body shield and a sonic boom in a scene that's full of the trademark humor of a James Gunn project.

In the Peacemaker episode 1 post-credits scene, an additional moment from the scene in his father’s equipment room is shown. Auggie informs Peacemaker that one of the helmets will “give you scabies.” Peacemaker, understandably, asks why you would even want a helmet that would give you scabies. Peacemaker’s father then goes on to explain that it’s a way to challenge yourself and that “every man should have scabies once in his life.” Scabies is a contagious skin condition that is caused by mites burrowing into the skin where they live and lay eggs, treatment requires extensive ointment of oral medication.

Peacemaker, Episode 2, “Best Friend, For Never”

Peacemaker Episode 2 Post Credits

In episode 2, “Best Friend, For Never,” Peacemaker escapes the building where he had sex with a Butterfly while trying to avoid the police. As part of this he ends up tying up a couple called Evan (Lenny Jacobson) and Amber (Alison Araya) who seem to be having some relationship struggles and Amber begins to flirt with Peacemaker. Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks) is sent by the team to offer the couple a bribe and Evan is happy to accept in return for not identifying Peacemaker and instead claiming that it was Auggie (a decision that is sure to have future ramifications now that the White Dragon is in jail).

In the DC TV show's post-credits scene in episode 2, the camera shows the two rooms where Amber and Evan are being shown pictures to identify their captor side-by-side. Amber states that it’s “definitely not the hot guy” and Evan, who can clearly hear her, curses at her about continuing to fixate on Peacemaker before she yells back at him. Amber then casually asks if she can take the picture of Peacemaker and a confused detective Song (Annie Chang) agrees. This continued interest from Amber in Peacemaker, as well as her having a better idea of who he is, helps to explain the scene near the end of episode 2 where Peacemaker, Amber, and Vigilante (Freddie Stroma) are in bed together.

Peacemaker, Episode 3: “Better Goff Dead”

Vigilante standing in a forest in Peacemaker

In Peacemaker episode 3, “Better Goff Dead,” Peacemaker and the team are on a mission to assassinate a United States senator who is secretly a Butterfly. Peacemaker and Harcourt set up a sniper’s nest to view the front of the senator’s house with Peacemaker on the rifle and Harcourt as his spotter. Uninvited, Vigilante arrives and Clemson Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji) insists that he remain with them so that he does not risk compromising the mission. He ultimately ends up making the kill shots when Peacemaker freezes up at the idea of killing women and children.

In the became Vigilante in the comics after his wife and children were murdered by the Scarapelli mob. This line in the Peacemaker post-credits scene in episode 3 hints that, while this version of Chase certainly doesn’t appear to have been a district attorney, he still has a dark and tragic backstory that helps to drive his actions.
