Paul Heyman's work as The Wiseman has been some of the best in his WWE career, which says a lot. He's made a splash in every company he's been in - including ECW and WCW - and has created milestones in WWE. Whether it's cutting some of the best promos in WWE history or advocating for future Hall of Famers like Brock Lesnar and CM Punk, Paul E. Dangerously has been consistent.
More recently, he's played a pivotal role in The Bloodline, the longest storyline in WWE and wrestling overall. His part in the stable is so important that his absence from television as the story continues speaks volumes as much as he would if he were delivering his boisterous voice over the microphone. The most recent development saw Roman Reigns finally call his special counsel for help on the last SmackDown, only to learn the number is disconnected.
Social media is littered with theories on what this could mean in the long run as WWE approaches Survivor Series, but more than anything, it speaks to how must-see anything involving Paul Heyman has been since ing the Bloodline.
10 Paul Heyman Recruits Roman Reigns
WWE Friday Night SmackDown, August 28, 2020
The go-home episode of SmackDown before Payback took place shortly after the return of Roman Reigns to WWE television. General Manager Adam Pearce presented The Big Dog with a contract to be included in the pay-per-view's main event Universal Championship match, but he hesitated to sign it without his special legal counsel present. The camera pans to the side to reveal that the counsel is none other than Paul Heyman.

10 Most Extreme ECW Moments
ECW changed the foundation for modern professional wrestling, WWE included. Here are the extreme moments that made the company so memorable.
This still stands tall as the most shocking moment of WWE's Thunderdome Era during the Pandemic. In retrospect, though, it's all the most important to the Bloodline's history, because if Heyman never s Roman, the building blocks can't be created to form the Bloodline. Plus, it solidifies Roman's heel turn that had been brewing since his return.
9 Paul Heyman Foreshadows the Future By Hyping Up Solo Sikoa
WWE Friday Night SmackDown, April 14, 2023
Backstage, moments before Solo Sikoa - still entrenched in his silent street fighter character - wrestles Matt Riddle one-on-one, The Usos hype their brother up with the help of Paul Heyman. As Heyman evokes the names of other of the legendary Anoi'a family and how themselves and the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns would be disappointed if they failed, it seems as if something snaps in Solo's mind, responding simply with "I got this" before brutalizing Riddle.
The beauty of revisiting Bloodline moments from the past is how even the smallest moments seem to carry bigger significance in the future. It's like when Roman Reigns first appointed Solo as Tribal Heir, no one thought it would actually lead to Solo becoming Tribal Chief. A small moment like this here can be contextualized as a breaking point for the Solo character, leading Solo to first desire Roman's position as Tribal Chief. Heyman's words created a motivated Solo, and a motivated Solo, as shown by this Tribal Chief run, is scary.
8 Bloodline 2.0 Strikes Fear into Paul Heyman's Heart
WWE Friday Night SmackDown May 10, 2024
Some of the best early segments in the new Bloodline 2.0's history revolved around Paul Heyman trying - and failing - to keep Solo Sikoa in check. Any one of those promos would be fitting to place here, be it the one where Heyman warns that Solo is aligning himself with dangerous people in the Tongans or when Solo promises that Roman Reigns will never come back. These segments were pivotal in getting the new Bloodline over as a unit, and this might be their most important.

Sami Zayn's Role in the Bloodline, Explained: Is Sami Part of the Family?
Sami Zayn (or Sami Uso) has been one of the most captivating aspects of the WWE's ongoing Bloodline storyline. Is he truly a part of the family?
What makes this segment so special is that Paul Heyman truly gets over the new Bloodline as a force to be reckoned with by selling how terrifying they are. His fear makes it clear that this is not only a different Bloodline than its previous iteration, but it's one that not even he can control anymore. The Bloodline is unpredictable, uncontrollable, and everyone - especially Heyman - should be afraid of what they're capable of without restraints.
7 Roman Reigns Acknowledges Paul Heyman's Love for Him
WWE Friday Night SmackDown, January 7, 2022
Weeks removed from Roman Reigns turning his back on Paul Heyman, The Advocate is back alongside his client Brock Lesnar. This segment is ed best for WWE Champion Brock Lesnar challenging Universal Champion Roman Reigns to a Winner Take All match, but the heart of the segment lies in Heyman still declaring love for his Tribal Chief. More importantly, it's in Reigns uncharacteristically acknowledging Heyman by defending him from an unsavory Lesnar.
Heyman always adored Reigns. To see him still maintain that love even post-betrayal may not be surprising, but the surprise comes in the typically emotionless egomaniac Reigns dropping his cold demeanor to defend Heyman. That's not something that the Reigns character does easily, and remains a rarity during his babyface run. It's the first time it truly felt like this was a mutual partnership with a genuine connection instead of legal counsel and client.
6 Paul Heyman Explains Why He Betrayed Brock Lesnar
WWE Friday Night SmackDown, February 4, 2022
Late 2021 and early 2022 were dominated by the "will he, won't he" dynamic of Roman Reigns betraying Paul Heyman. Then, Roman does betray Heyman, leading to the latter re-ing Brock Lesnar... just so he could turn on Brock Lesnar again. Especially for the casual fan not following the story week to week, Heyman's turn at the Royal Rumble feels like a shark-jumping moment that doesn't make sense. This is where the natural talking skill of Paul Heyman comes into play, as he masterfully finds a way to connect the dots for the viewers at home.
Paul Heyman is one of the best promo guys in the business for a reason. Not only can he help a good storyline shine, but he can make a poorly received and nonsensical story development make sense to the point that it becomes great. Heyman flip-flopping clients in mere weeks shouldn't make sense, but Heyman's sharp tongue makes it work.
5 Paul Heyman Proves His Loyalty to Roman Reigns
WWE Friday Night SmackDown, October 8, 2021
In the build-up to their match at Crown Jewel, Brock Lesnar tries to cause dissension within The Bloodline by suggesting that there's a mole in their ranks by the name of Paul Heyman. Here, Heyman has to fend for his life to convince his clients that Brock Lesnar is lying. Moments after, Heyman cuts a signature, confident promo of why The Beast will fall to the Head of the Table.
Heyman is absolutely in rare form here, as his performance demands him to act feeble, but confident, almost simultaneously. It's a multi-layered performance within a performance from a Wiseman trying to convince Roman of his loyalty. Even as he cuts a fiery promo on Brock, Roman doesn't take his eyes off Paul, waiting for a moment to doubt his allegiance.
4 Paul Heyman Tries to Warn CM Punk to Leave Chicago in Fear of the Bloodline
WWE Friday Night SmackDown, June 21, 2024
For the first time since 2013, Paul Heyman and CM Punk shared a WWE ring. It wasn't the most fruitful of reunions, as Punk's former advocate, with tears in his eyes, tries to warn Punk not to evoke the wrath of the new Head of the Table, Solo Sikoa. This is also the first time that Heyman actually looks physically worn down by Bloodline 2.0, visibly pale and sleep-deprived.
It's hard to go wrong whenever CM Punk and Paul Heyman share the ring together. Heyman was a big part of what made the Straight-Edge Superstar's 434-day WWE Championship reign feel legitimate, and even their proceeding feud was memorable. This solitary moment offers closure to their time together, with the caveat of Punk forgiving Heyman for betraying him more than a decade ago. This promo gave closure to the past while advancing storylines for the present.
3 Paul Heyman Is Fired from the Bloodline
WWE Friday Night SmackDown, December 17, 2021
Paul Heyman's character was between a rock and a hard place when his new client, Roman Reigns, was pitted against his old client of 20 years, Brock Lesnar. Knowing what Lesnar's capable of, he tries to warn his Tribal Chief, outright telling him that he's trying to protect him from Brock Lesnar. Insulted, Roman hugs Paul like a mafia leader saying goodbye to his favorite henchman before putting him out of his misery - and his position in the Bloodline - with a Superman Punch.
It's Paul Heyman's emotional performance that really sells this. He looks truly torn in his role as a Wiseman to say what he feels needs to be said, but also knows there will be consequences. It's hard not to feel bad for the sniveling Heyman while looking into his eyes, and seeing how he clearly knows the inevitable is about to occur.
2 Paul Heyman Declares Solo Sikoa Is Not His Tribal Chief
WWE Friday Night SmackDown, June 28, 2024
At this point, Paul Heyman has been bullied and mentally tortured by Solo Sikoa's Bloodline for months. Heyman looked sleep-deprived, with an uncut beard and red eyes. It reaches its pinnacle on the night that Solo Sikoa presents a stolen Ulla Fala to Paul Heyman, much to the Wiseman's surprise, demanding that Heyman acknowledges Solo as his Tribal Chief. Heyman refuses to a massive pop, and pays the consequences. As of this writing, this was the last time that Heyman was seen on WWE TV.
This is easily the biggest babyface reaction that the typical heel Heyman has ever received. It's also an oddly sentimental moment knowing that Heyman's upbringing in the business was sneaking backstage at Madison Square Garden to take pictures as a teenager. Decades later, he's cheered unanimously in front of a crowd of 17,000+ in that same building.
1 Roman Reigns Inducts Paul Heyman into the WWE Hall of Fame
WWE Hall of Fame 2024
This isn't a storyline moment, but it's significant to the Bloodline in a different way. This is the moment that Roman Reigns inducts Paul Heyman into the WWE Hall of Fame. When Reigns was announced as Heyman's inductor, it received some criticism from fans who believed Paul Heyman Guys like CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, or even Tommy Dreamer were more appropriate than his kayfabe client. However, Reigns and Heyman have a closer relationship backstage than some can comprehend.
When Heyman cuts promos about how close he is to Roman and his family, there's truth to his statements. Him giving the rub to Roman by becoming his onscreen manager was Heyman's way of giving back to the Tribal Chief and his family. Paul Heyman has added to the legacy of Roman Reigns and his family in several ways. Reigns returns the favor by adding to Paul Heyman's legacy by inducting him into the WWE Hall of Fame in a beautiful, full-circle moment.
