Some of the main characters in Parks & Recreation had secret identities that showed up in the series a couple of times – here’s who and when they used them. Created by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur, Parks & Recreation is a political satire sitcom that debuted on NBC in 2009 and came to an end in 2015 after seven seasons. The series had a rough start, as its first season isn’t the best and is very different from the rest, but the writers found the right tone and subsequent seasons were better received.

Parks & Recreation followed the daily lives of Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) and her friends and coworkers from the Parks Department in Pawnee, Indiana. Each character had their own quirks and secrets, and some of them even led a double life or liked to have fun by taking on different identities from time to time. These alter-egos added to the comedy of the series and in some cases to the arcs of the characters, as some of these were an important part of their lives.

Though these alter-egos didn’t appear often, they had a big impact on the audience and became quite memorable – here are the characters who had secret identities and when they used them.

Most of the main characters took on a different identity at some point, but to some, their alter-egos were a big part of their lives, and often used them to either get something or simply to lead a different type of life, far from the Parks Department. With that in mind, there are three characters who had secret identities with a purpose: Ron Swanson, Andy Dwyer, and April Ludgate. Ron Swanson led a double life, as he was also known as Eagleton on the second Thursday of every month (so his coworkers wouldn’t know about it), and had a loyal fanbase that consisted mainly of middle-aged women.

Tom Haverford (Tommy Timberlake), and Leslie Knope, who used a fake name and dressed up to visit Gryzzl’s headquarters. The characters in Parks & Recreation knew how to have fun, but they were also quite sneaky.
