Most streaming services offer Paramount Plus is no exception. Whether it’s to understand foreign language shows or movies, assist those with hearing impairments, or watch in quieter surroundings without missing a beat, being able to enable closed captioning is always an option worth having. Depending on what device is being used to watch, the steps to turn on subtitles may be slightly different but still easy to accomplish.
s accessing Paramount Plus through the web, either through a computer or mobile web browser, can turn on subtitles while a video is currently playing. Simply hit ‘Subtitles + Audio’ (the speech bubble symbol) located in the top-right corner of the video player and under the ‘Subtitles’ column, pick one of the available languages. s can also go to ‘Subtitle Settings’ to make changes to the font size, color, and other caption design elements and see a preview of their changes at the bottom of the screen.
Paramount Plus Closed Captions On Smart TVs
The steps for turning on subtitles are similar when accessing Paramount Plus on an iPhone, iPad, or Android device. However, to make changes to the way captions are formatted, s will need to go through their device’s respective accessibility settings. Launch the Settings app, go to ‘Accessibility,’ and head to ‘Display & Text Size’ or ‘Captions’ to make any modifications. In addition, audio descriptions can also be turned on under the ‘Audio’ section of the accessibility settings.
For some devices, the same speech bubble icon on the video player should be prominent onscreen when a plays a video on Paramount Plus on a smart TV. Using the TV remote to select it should bring up closed captions for the chosen show or film. If the speech bubble icon is not visible while a video is playing, there should be a dedicated button on the remote control that will launch the TV’s menu or settings page. Just press it, go through all the sections and their respective subsections, and find a menu that’s named ‘Accessibility,’ ‘Closed Captions,’ ‘Subtitles,’ or something similar to switch it on.
Depending on the TV manufacturer or media player brand, s may need to repeat this step every time they launch the Paramount Plus app to watch a video if they want to keep viewing content with subtitles on. If watching Paramount Plus on Roku, the steps involving the modification of TV settings have to be executed from Roku’s home screen instead of the Paramount+ menu. Press the home button on the remote and then open Settings. Turn on closed captions under the Accessibility menu. Alternatively, some television or device models may have a dedicated ‘CC’ or caption button on the remote that’ll give s quick access to subtitles.
In the case of Apple TV, while the video is currently playing, viewers can long-press the Siri button on the remote to launch the virtual assistant and say, ‘Turn on Closed Captioning.’ They can also find accessibility options through the TV’s general settings. For either method, a ‘CC’ icon will become visible onscreen that’ll enable s to easily access subtitle controls. With a video running through the Paramount Plus app, swipe up on the Apple TV remote, click the ‘Subtitles’ button, and select an option.
Turn On Paramount Plus Subtitles On Xfinity
If watching Paramount Plus on an Xfinity device, enable the video player using the remote so that the rewind and fast-forward options appear on the screen. Select the 'CC' button and then toggle it to 'On.' If watching live TV, follow the same method, and then press '0' on the XR15 remote. Some remotes, such as the Flex remote, may not have the option to enable closed captions for live TV.
