Summary

  • Palworld doesn't offer endgame players official activities to keep the game interesting after reaching the level cap, so they'll have to make their own fun.
  • Breeding rare Pals, finding Dragon Eggs, optimizing gear, and building bases are key endgame tasks.
  • Players can also focus on completing the Paldeck, increasing Capture Power, and experimenting with difficulty settings.

Despite being an open-world game with some online connectivity, Palworld level cap in a future update, for the time being, it remains pretty linear.

But Palworld has become immensely popular since its early access release, and some players are loath to let it go. In that case, once they've achieved everything the game has to offer, the only thing they can do is make their own fun. None of the following tasks provide any official rewards (although there may be achievements involved), but all of them can keep the Palworld experience going long after its expiration date. Here are ten endgame activities to keep Palworld interesting when a player seems to have run out of content.

10 Advanced Pal Breeding Can Optimize The Experience

Breed Rare Pals Or Unique Skill Combos In Palworld

Breeding is an excellent way to the time in Palworld, and it has many potential benefits. Players can start a breeding program with certain Pals in mind, like Palworld's rare Elphidran Aqua pictured above, or try to create Pals with unique combinations of inherited skills. Skill-focused breeding can help with a variety of other endgame goals, too, like fleshing out a combat team or optimizing base operations.

Breeding isn't 100% reliable - not all breeding combos make perfect sense, and the degree of randomization means that Palworld breeding can be an exercise in futility. Still, the time and patience required make breeding the perfect activity for an endgame player. By that point, they've hopefully dipped their toes into breeding at least a little bit. Using all the knowledge they've gained, plus their efficient bases and stores of ingredients like wheat, ensure endgame players can go for some advanced breeding combinations.

9 Finding All Dragon Eggs Expands Palworld Exploration

Explore The Map & Catch Dragon-Element Pals

And if an endgame player can't be bothered to do the breeding themselves, they can also try to find all the Dragon Eggs in Palworld. A wide variety of dragon-element Pals hatch from these rare finds. Dragon Eggs can either be bred at home or found in the world. It's hard to say which is easier - breeding is time-consuming and uncertain, while Dragon Eggs are among the rarest pickups in Palworld. Still, that's why finding Dragon Eggs (and Huge Dragon Eggs) make perfect sense as an endgame activity.

Players will need to explore any and all parts of the map they previously ignored, leaving no stone unturned and dissipating all the fog of war. Eggs always spawn in the same places, but the Pals they spawn may be random. In any case, the player will end up with a wide variety of dragon Pals to add to their team.

8 Getting All Legendary Gear Powers Up The Palworld Player

Find The Best Possible Palworld Equipment

In almost any game, a reliably fun endgame activity involves optimizing the player character's stats to make them as powerful as possible. In Palworld, a large part of player power comes from Legendary gear. Players will first have to find Legendary schematics in Palworld, which will unlock the relevant item recipe. They'll then have to gather a wide variety of crafting ingredients, some of which they may already have, but others might require some serious exploration to find.

And it's not just the crafting: endgame players will also notice a huge boost in power each time they equip a new legendary item. While they might not have as many enemies to use them on right away, they can get some practice in a relatively low-stakes environment. This way, they'll be fully geared up and ready with the Legendary items of their preference when Palworld's new raid boss first becomes available.

7 Establishing Full Production Lines Keeps Palworld Players Supplied

Optimize Pal Production & Automate Crafting

Every single activity in Palworld requires supplies. Of course, players can go out and look for them by themselves - but by the time a player reaches the endgame, they're above that kind of busywork. Instead, a useful endgame activity can be optimizing a Palworld base with production lines, crafting stations, and gathering points. This way, the Pals do the bulk of the work involved in keeping everyone fed, clothed, and stocked, while the player is free to pursue other endgame tasks at their leisure.

Optimizing a Palworld base isn't as simple as building production lines, though. Players will also need to hire sufficient numbers of Pals with the right skills to keep things running smoothly. Of course, that also means upgrading a base's level to accommodate as many Pals as possible. Each level has specific requirements, so players will probably need to learn new crafting recipes, and revamp entire areas. In short, base optimization is a complicated, multi-stage process ideal for endgame players.

6 Catching 'Em All Can Round Out A Palworld Team

Finish The Paldeck & Find Lucky Pals

If a player has somehow made it through all Palworld's content without catching every available Pal, there's no better time to fill out that Paldeck. There are 137 Pals in the game at launch, with more almost certain to come after. Completing the Paldeck can keep an endgame player busy, and easily add tens of hours to the total playtime - perhaps even more if they've missed a bunch. They'll also encounter a wide variety of new Pals, including those they'll need to expand their bases and perfect their combat strategies. If they're lucky, they may even find a new favorite Pal.

Endgame players may also want to go hunting for Lucky Pals. These unique Pals are larger and more powerful than their standard counterparts, emit glittering orbs of light, and have a skill that grants them increases to work speed and attack power. They'll also give the player Ancient Civilization Parts when they're caught, making them very helpful in achieving endgame goals.

5 Maxing Out Capture Power Helps With Catching Rare Pals

Increase Stats Even After Reaching The Palworld Level Cap

A player will need high Capture Power to bring home all those new Pals, though. While most stats are locked in by the time the player hits the level cap, they can continue to increase a few of them by finding or building Statues of Power. These statues grant permanent stat bonuses, but unless the player finds themselves dragging in any particular category, the best stat to level up at the endgame is Capture Power.

The final hours of Palworld are all about optimization - a more efficient base, a more powerful combat team, a more calculated breeding program. All of the above require catching lots and lots of Pals, which means Capture Power will come in handy. Players will also want to secure a reliable means of producing Legendary Pal Spheres. In tandem with an increased catch rate, Legendary Spheres help ensure the probability of catching each Pal is at its highest.

4 Creative Base Building Makes Palworld A Different Game

Find Inspiration & Construct Impressive Cities

Building bases for optimization is all well and good, but some Palworld players prefer to show their creative sides. For would-be architects, an excellent endgame activity is creative base building. Don't worry about how smoothly everything runs or whether the Pals are best for the job - just experiment with materials, placement and technique until everything looks as good as it can be. Optimization can come later - the primary goal of this endgame activity is beauty.

Players may choose to take inspiration from their favorite real-life cities, or video game architecture. Some players have built entire massive cities in Palworld, while others have curated idyllic small towns. It’s all up to individual preference, and most structures are pretty easy with Palworld's surprisingly intuitive building tools. Arguably, these players might be better off moving onto Minecraft, but the cartoonish beauty of the Palpagos Islands lends itself well to certain types of architectural grandeur.

3 Optimizing A Combat Team Makes Palworld Players More Powerful

Breed & Train Pals For A Balanced Combat Team

If a player really wants to be prepared for Palworld's raid bosses, a productive endgame ability would be optimizing their combat team with the best Pals possible. This means catching and training as many Pals as possible, and experimenting with different combinations. Players may want to balance a good range of types for exploiting weaknesses, or find interesting synergies between particular Pals. With a little breeding for unique skills or special characteristics on the side, players will have a plethora of options when it comes to their Palworld teams.

It can also be helpful to seek out Skill Fruit in order to further customize each Pal's moveset. Skill Fruits can be found growing on otherwise-bare trees throughout the Palworld map. Each one can teach a single Pal a certain skill. Since any Skill Fruit can be used on any Pal, these are best used to diversify a Pal's abilities with moves of a different type, or utilities they wouldn't ordinarily learn by leveling up. Of course, what Skill Fruit grows on each tree is random, but endgame players have time to be picky.

2 Crafting All Technologies Can Vary The Palworld Experience

Gather Technology Points, Unlock New Recipes, & Craft New Items

The Technology Tree and Ancient Technology Tree are the primary methods of unlocking new recipes in Palworld. Players gain a few Technology Points each time they level up, and can spend these on new Technologies as they wish. Ancient Technology Points are usually gained by beating different kinds of bosses. However, it's easy to miss certain options, and find oneself at the endgame without all available Technologies unlocked. At this point, it can be useful to go back through the tree and unlock anything the player missed with any spare points, or unlock more by finding new fast travel points.

And even if a player has already unlocked everything on the Technology Tree, they're unlikely to have crafted everything. Tech Tree items vary in of usefulness: some are necessary and game-changing, and others are decorative. Still, it can be nice to go back through Technologies they've never tried, and see if they can spruce up a base or improve efficiency.

1 Changing Difficulty Settings Can Make Palworld More Challenging

Try New World Settings & Self-Imposed Restrictions

Sometimes, making Palworld's endgame is as simple as making it harder. Since Palworld allows server hosts to change its difficulty settings - or World Settings - at any time, players can experiment with them as much as they like. All they have to do is navigate to their preferred save file from the main menu, click on "World Settings," and alter whatever they'd like. Doing so can renew the sense of challenge players may have felt in the early days of Palworld. It may also reveal weaknesses in their base optimization or preferred combat team.

For example, turning the hunger rate up to the maximum will test the player's supply chain to its limits. Increasing incoming damage while decreasing outgoing damage may reveal useful strategies for getting out of a tight spot. Decreasing nighttime speed may force players into confrontations with more powerful Pals. And if any of these changes prove to be too much, the player can always return to the World Settings menu and turn them back off.

Ultimately, the name of the Palworld endgame is player-made fun. Anyone who's finished the majority will need to set their own goals. New Palworld content appears to be coming soon, but until then, the endgame requires a willingness to experiment.
