The Elderwood is cozy, MMO Palia's most significant update, adding a large new zone for players to explore, along with new crafting resources and quests. With such a big map, the Elderwood has plenty of stable boards to allow for faster travel between the various areas. Along with needing to unlock the new regions' stables, one early Elderwood quest also lets you craft your own stable board that can then be placed on your home lot.
The stable boards in Palia act as the game's fast travel points, where you can spend gold to get around the different maps a little quicker. Before the new Palia Elderwood expansion, you could only leave your home plot from one of its two exits, with one leading to Kilima Valley and the other to Bahari Bay. The option to have a stable board on a character's plot is a very welcome one, albeit expensive for new players, as it makes the trips back and forth much less tedious.
Speak With Nai’o To Start The Quest Up The Hill
Crafting Your Own Stable Board Unlocks Better Fast Travel
In a change from previous regions, you must find all the stables within the Elderwood to unlock them. This quest can be picked up from Nai'o upon entering the new zone, and once complete, the next step kicks off. Nai'o will offer to teach you the crafting recipe for a stable board of your own, one that can then be placed on your home plot.
Nai'o will give you the recipe, requiring 30 Ancient Wood Planks and seven Whitestone Slabs to craft. However, it isn't immediately obvious that you will need two more recipes to be unlocked to create both resources. Luckily, this is very simple once you know how, and both raw materials are very easy to find.
Where To Get Ancient Wood Planks
Speak With Ashura To Buy The Recipe
Before gathering any raw materials, you must take a trip to Kilima Village to speak with Ashura. Ashura is the villager representing the Foraging Guild, and will sell you upgrades and recipes as you rank up in the skill. Speak to him, and you can buy the recipe for Ancient Wood Planks for 500 gold.

Palia: How To Get To The Elderwood
Palia's big expansion adds a whole new zone for players to quest and gather resources in, and explore, but where exactly is the Elderwood?
As the name suggests, Ancient Wood Planks can be crafted from Ancient Wood, found all over the Elderwood. Look for the trees with the bright purple leaves and start chopping. You will need at least level six Foraging and a Fine Axe to harvest trees in the Elderwood. Placing these pieces of wood into your sawmill will produce Ancient Wood Planks, with one piece of wood needed to make one plank.
Where To Get Whitestone Slabs
Speak With Hodari To Buy The Recipe
Just as with the Ancient Wood Planks, before you can create any Whitestone Slabs you will need to buy a new recipe. This time, you will need to find Hodari, who is the local Mining Guild representative. Speak to Hodari, and you can buy the recipe for Whitestone Slabs for 300 gold.
Hodari can usually be found in Bahari Bay, however between 10am and 2pm he can also be found in Kilima Village.
Whitestone can be mined in the Elderwood and looks like pale gray stone nodes all over the map. Each node will give a mixture of regular Stone and Whitestone when mined with a Fine Pick or one of higher quality. Placing these pieces of Whitestone in your smelter will give you one Whitestone Slab for every two pieces of raw Whitestone.
How To Craft A Stable Sign
Unlock Fast Travel From Home
Once you have gathered all your materials, you must take them to your worktable and select the Stable Sign option in the Crafters tab. This can be placed anywhere on your home plot, and additional signs can be made for any other housing plots you might have. Once you’ve placed the first Stable Sign, Nai’o will arrive at your lot to speak to you.

Palia: Where To Find All The Ingredients For Tamala's Potion In The Elderwood
To gather infected resources in Palia's new Elderwood zone, players will need to gather ingredients for a special potion Tamala can craft.
Having the Stable Sign on your lot will allow for better fast travel in Palia, with the prices varying depending on where you want to travel to. Kilima Village is the cheapest, costing 10 gold, while Bahari Bay costs 25 gold. The most expensive is traveling to the Elderwood Central Stables, which will cost 50 gold, but this can be offset easily with the gatherable materials in the zone fetching good prices when sold.
