Negotiations are reportedly still in early stages, with an official offer not yet made to Berger, who is being heavily sought after following the Academy Award-winning success of All Quiet on the Western Front and his most recent film, Conclave, which earned stellar reviews following its premiere at the Telluride Film Festival.

Now that Clooney and Pitt are in talks to return for Ocean's 14, the next question is which other stars from the previous films could return as well. Matt Damon and Casey Affleck recently starred together in Apple TV+'s The Instigators, and they confirmed to Screen Rant during the press tour that they do not know anything about Ocean's 14, but Damon expressed interest in returning "if we can get the whole group together and get a good script." Unfortunately, the entire group cannot return due to some of them ing away since Ocean's Thirteen.

With Bullock's character being a member of the Ocean family and Elliot Gould and Qin Shaobo having cameos, other Ocean's 8 cast could also be in Ocean's 14, from Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway to Awkwafina and Rihanna.

Bernie Mac ed away in 2008 and Carl Reiner ed away in 2020. Every other core cast member from the trilogy could potentially return, including Julia Roberts and Don Cheadle. Since Ocean's 8 takes place in the same universe as the trilogy, with Bullock's character being a member of the Ocean family and Elliot Gould and Qin Shaobo having cameos, other Ocean's 8 cast could also be in Ocean's 14, from Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway to Awkwafina and Rihanna.

The star-studded casting possibilities are enough to make Ocean's 14 incredibly exciting. Unlike other franchises, whose sequels rely heavily on past installments, Ocean's 14 can tell a new heist adventure story that does not require any kind of extensive knowledge or background to watch it, while still pleasing longtime fans with the return of beloved characters. The sequel has the potential to be a major box office hit and all-time great heist movie if it eventually comes to fruition.
