bought a new computer or GPU will surely see a big difference once they install one of these new cards, but choosing the right one goes well beyond the price tag.

From September to December of this year, Nvidia's new cards have become available for purchase. The RTX 3080 was the first to release on September 17 and at $699, it is the second most powerful in the series. The 3090 followed a week later and with it being the most powerful, it comes in at $1,499, double the price of the 3080. Released in October for $499, The 3070 is the second most affordable card. Then there's the RTX 3060 Ti. This was the more recent graphics card to be released and costs just $399. Basically, the higher the series number, the higher the capabilities and the price.

All of the RTX 30-Series cards feature ray tracing, deep-learning super-sampling (DLSS), and work with displays up to 7680 by 2340 pixels. Comparing the varied specs, the RTX 3090 leads in nearly every respect. It boasts 10,496 CUDA cores, 24GB of GDDR6X memory, and a 384-bit memory interface width. The 3080 features 8,704 CUDA cores, 10GB of GDDR6X memory, and a 320-bit memory interface width. The 3070 comes with 5,888 CUDA cores, 8GB of GDDR6 memory, and a 256-bit memory interface. Lastly, the 3060 Ti includes just 4,864 CUDA cores, 8GB of GDDR6 memory, and a 256-bit memory interface. The one interesting stat, however, is the max clock speed as the 3070 happens to show the highest (1.73 GHz) compared to the 3080 (1.71 GHz), 3090 (1.70 GHz), and the 3060 Ti (1.67 GHz).

Ranking Nvidia's New RTX Graphics Cards

Cheaper Nvidia cards

The most recommended card of the series is the RTX 3070. Its main selling point is the faster load times and yet it only costs a third of the price of the 3090, all while still having more CUDA cores than the RTX 2080 Ti - RTX 3060 Ti, as gamers can still get a great boost in power for a smaller investment than a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. Last happens to be the 3080. While it's still a remarkable graphics card, it's neither the strongest, fastest, nor the most affordable in the series. Although if one's budget happens to stretch to $699 or more, then it is worth considering.

Among the four RTX 3000 graphics cards, three of them have at least one advantage over the others. Whether a gamer wants the cheapest, fastest, or overall best GPU of the bunch, there should be enough details for a clear decision to be made. All four cards are great products that will provide PC games with many improvements over previous generation GPUs. The best feature of the new RTX 30-Series is that Nvidia offers a choice to suit any gamer looking to upgrade their PC gaming setup and experience.
