Not Okay follows the story of Danni Sanders, a magazine photo editor who dreams of being a well-known writer. Determined to become famous she posts photoshopped images of herself online pretending to be in Paris. Danni goes viral following a terrorist attack on the French city, pushing her to lie about being a survivor.
The trailer for the R-rated movie suggests a fun tone despite some sensitive issues, as the movie focuses on Danni trying to avoid being exposed. Zoey Dutch leads Not Okay as Danni Sanders, a magazine photo editor who is desperate to be noticed. The aspiring influencer puts her skills to good by pretending to be on a luxurious trip to Paris. Danni's world is changed when a Parisian terrorist attack means she has to pretend to be a survivor. At 27 years old, Deutch is set to become one of film and TV's biggest stars, leading smaller but popular movies like No Okay will keep her on Hollywood's radar. Everybody Wants Some.
Dylan O'Brien as Colin
Danni's love interest in Not Okay, Colin, is played by the almost unrecognizable Dylan O'Brien. Colin is the person whose attention Danni wants the most because of his good looks and his 274,000 Instagram followers. Her Paris lie comes from trying to impress Colin, and he later becomes more interested in her when he notices her fame rapidly increasing. O'Brien is best known for his leading roles in The Outfit.
Mia Isaac as Rowan
After her lie, Danni s a survivors group and befriends Rowan, played by Mia Isaac. Rowan is a sincere character who believes Danni was in Paris during the attack and encourages her to speak up at protests and rallies for peace. Mia Isaac is a relative newcomer although she recently co-starred in the Don't Make Me Go.

Negin Farsad as Susan - Susan is Danni's critical boss who doesn't see any potential in her writing. She quickly changes her mind when Danni's Paris trip goes viral. Negin Farsad is a comedian who typically focuses on social justice themes and has been involved in various projects as a writer, director, and actor, including The Muslims Are Coming!
Nadia Alexander as Harper - Harper is a writer at the magazine Danni works for. When Danni goes viral, Harper starts getting overlooked at the company so turns her attention to exposing Danni as a fraud. Nadia Alexander previously worked with Not Okay director Quinn Shepheard, who she is in a relationship with on 2017's Blame, and she has recently appeared in the Servant.
