We are getting closer to Bob Odenkirk's sequel Nobody 2 is now in the works with Timo Tjahjanto (May the Devil Take You) taking over as director.
Now, less than two months after principal photography began, director Timo Tjahjanto announced on Instagram that "shooting has officially wrapped" on Nobody 2. Check out his full post below:
The director announced the news with a photo of the film's clapperboard, seemingly after filming the final scene. He captioned the post, "The body is exhausted, yet the heart is full, the pride is humbled while the universe is expanding."
What To Know About Nobody 2
Cast, Story, & More
Other than Odenkirk's Hutch Mansell, the sequel is set to bring back more characters from the first film, and also introduce some new antagonists for the former government assassin to take on. Academy Award nominee Sharon Stone (Martin Scorsese's Casino) has been cast as the main villain, though details about her role remain under wraps. Colin Hanks, son of Tom Hanks, will also appear as a secondary antagonist, portraying a corrupt and power-hungry sheriff. Reprising their roles are Connie Nielsen as Hutch’s wife Becca, Christopher Lloyd as Hutch’s father and retired FBI agent David, and RZA as Hutch's brother Harry.
The sequel also stars Mckenna Grace and John Ortiz in undisclosed roles.
Nobody's post-credits scene showed David and Harry with guns in their family caravan, seemingly heading across the border, suggesting they will play significant roles in the sequel. This aligns with what Connie Nielsen has said, suggesting the sequel will delve deeper into the Mansell family struggles as Hutch's complicated past continues coming to light and disrupting his seemingly perfect family life. Like John Wick, the sequel should intensify the action and visuals, while also utilizing Odenkirk's dramatic range and his newfound action-hero persona.
Our Take On Nobody 2's Filming Wrap
The Sequel Is Moving Along Smoothly
Nobody 2 was initially announced in 2021, but the project faced multiple delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the dual Hollywood strikes. However, ever since the sequel started shooting in August 2024, everything has been moving along smoothly, and it is set to hit theaters on August 15, 2025. While the recently announced filming wrap won't make that date arrive any sooner, it is nice to know that production is moving along smoothly without any major issues.
