According to a leaker with a reputation for accurate information, Nintendo Switch Online will soon provide s with access to GameCube titles. The NSO catalogue includes an expansive collection of Nintendo's classic games, spanning several generations. Subscribers can already play dozens of Nintendo Entertainment System games and Super Nintendo Entertainment System games, alongside a handful of beloved Game Boy and Game Boy Advance titles, but many are still waiting patiently for some word on the GameCube.
Over on YouTube, insider NateTheHate, who has a track record of correct predictions when it comes to Nintendo announcements, noted that he's heard that GameCube will come to NSO, suggesting that it's just a matter of time before the library grows. Based on the leaker's description, it sounds like the GameCube expansion won't be unveiled during the forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. As with all rumors of this nature, it's worth taking it with a grain of salt until Nintendo makes some kind of official announcement.
GameCube Is The Next Logical Step For NSO
It Just Makes Sense
While it may not have been as widespread as the PlayStation 2, the Nintendo GameCube became a popular console in the early 2000s thanks to its smaller library of innovative games. Nintendo fans look back on the era positively thanks to titles like The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine, and Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. Many of the system's most popular games were never ported to newer generations, so having a place to preserve them while enhancing the value of the Nintendo Switch Online makes sense.
If Nintendo is planning to launch GameCube on Switch Online, its method of doing so remains unknown, but it stands to reason that the catalogue will be bundled into the service's expansion pack that also features Game Boy Advance titles. It could also be the case that the publisher releases an additional tier for the service, giving s the option of paying more to access the GameCube library. Whatever the case, fans will undoubtedly be pleased to see even more classics added to Switch Online, provided that the price is right.

The GameCube Is An Underrated Console
We Can't Forget About Nintendo's Dark Horse
I sincerely hope we do eventually get GameCube games on Nintendo Switch Online considering how difficult it can be to play some of the system's best releases. It may not have had the cultural impact of something like the Wii, but I firmly believe the GameCube is one of Nintendo's most interesting consoles. Its library is Eternal Darkness and Second Sight.
