Nintendo announced the existence of the Nintendo Switch 2 all the way back in May 2024. Since then, there have been so many rumors and leaks surrounding its design, the games releasing for it, and, perhaps most importantly, when Nintendo will finally officially reveal it. Over the past few months there have been a number of leaks that have claimed it'll be revealed soon, only for that to never happen. It is fair to say that everyone is definitely tired of all the false hope.
Recently, leaker Nate the Hate claimed there will be a Switch 2 reveal this week, which has, naturally, sent fans wild. Of course, many are still skeptical, wondering whether the Switch 2 will actually be revealed or if it will lead to even more disappointment. However, while all rumors and leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, a Nintendo Switch 2 reveal may finally be on the horizon.
There's A Good Chance The Nintendo Switch Might Be Announced This Thursday
The Rumors Are Reaching Boiling Point
There is a very good chance that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be revealed this Thursday. The aforementioned reliable leaker, Nintendo Switch 2 accessory leaks, with the company Genki releasing images of what the Switch 2 allegedly looks like.
Of course, fans have been speculating about when the Switch 2 will be revealed for quite some time, with many claiming it would happen in November. This never transpired, but there is good reason to believe it will happen this time. Nintendo announced it would reveal the Switch 2 before March 31, 2025, and if it wants to start shipping around May - which is when it is rumored to be released - then it needs to reveal the console sooner rather than later. However, while the Switch 2 may be revealed this week, fans shouldn't expect any games to be announced.
Fans Shouldn't Expect Switch 2 Games At The Reveal
Reliable Sources Say The Reveal Will Be Of The Console Only
According to Nate the Hate, fans shouldn't expect there to be any game reveals for the Switch 2 during the initial announcement. During the podcast, he stated that the reveal will "focus almost exclusively on the console itself," with there being footage of games playing on the console in the background. This isn't surprising, as Nintendo used this exact same strategy when it announced the original Switch. It debuted in the very first reveal trailer on 20 October 2016, with Nintendo releasing a more game-focused presentation a few months later on 13 January 2017.

The Switch 2 Reveal Won't Be As Big As The First Switch, And That's OK
The original Nintendo Switch had a big reason to build hype that the Switch 2 doesn't, but that doesn't mean that the reveal will be underwhelming.
So, it could be a few months until players finally get to see any Halo on the Switch 2 alongside Gears of War, and other developers like Ubisoft already have lots of games planned for it. While it is always worth taking these Switch 2 rumors with a grain of salt, it is definitely exciting to think that Nintendo's next console could finally be revealed this week.
