Summary
- Nickelodeon has a wide range of Halloween episodes in their catalog, ranging from silly to spooky, across their original programming.
- Many of Nickelodeon's popular shows, such as Rugrats, Sam & Cat, and The Wild Thornberrys, have Halloween-themed episodes that are kid-friendly and entertaining.
- Other notable Nickelodeon Halloween episodes include those from iCarly, Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom, Hey Arnold!, SpongeBob SquarePants, and The Loud House, all of which offer fun and memorable Halloween storylines.
While Disney Channel focused mainly on the world of live-action children's television and Cartoon Network focused on animated children's television, Nickelodeon arose as the best of both worlds, including some of its holiday content, like Nickelodeon's Halloween episodes. This was fitting since the network was the first cable channel designed exclusively for children.
Over the years, Nickelodeon has created wildly successful live-action and animated shows under a wide range of genres from real life to superhero/fantasy worlds. Of course, many of these shows have their own Halloween-themed episodes in their catalog. Almost all of Nickelodeon's original programming includes a Halloween episode. Just like their range in genres, Nickelodeon Halloween episodes range from silly to downright spooky. Much of Nickelodeon's programming is also now available to stream on Paramount+.

20 Best Disney Channel Show Halloween Episodes, Ranked By IMDb
Disney Channel's Halloween episodes might not be the scariest, but that doesn't mean they aren't full of tricks and treats. These are the best.
Rugrats: “Curse Of The Werewuff” (Season 8, Episode 11)
Rugrats was one of the most popular children’s cartoons on Nickelodeon in the 1990s, but this episode actually aired for the first time in October of 2002. Themed around the Halloween holiday, toddler Angelica tells the babies that they’ll become whatever costume they’re wearing once the holiday is over.
The episode sees Chuckie terrified of becoming a “werewuff’ as a result, but it also features Chuckie standing up to Angelica because of the belief that he’s transforming into one. Any episode that features Chuckie standing up for himself is usually a good one since his fears tend to make him the least adventurous character.
Sam & Cat: “#DollSitting” (Season 1, Episode 15)
Sam & Cat acted as a spinoff series of both iCarly and Victorious, featuring fan favorites Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande in the title roles. The two teamed up to start a babysitting business and became an odd-couple-like pair of roommates. This particular episode sees the two offered double the payment to watch a client’s child on Halloween. The client’s child, however, turns out to be a doll named Clarice.
Throughout the night, Cat and Sam notice the doll do things by herself, like carving a pumpkin, putting on a scary movie, and making microwave popcorn. The doll, however, always starts these tasks when they are out of the room, so they don’t know what to think until a big reveal at the end of the night. This Nickelodeon Halloween episode is a kid-friendly version of menacing dolls like Chucky or M3GAN since there’s no violence in the story. It’s definitely a fun watch.
The Wild Thornberrys: “Spirited Away” (Season 3, Episode 18)
One aspect of The Wild Thornberrys that was great for its young audience was that it was educational as well as entertaining, usually about the regions the family explored or the animals within them. The entire idea of the show was that the family traveled as part of a nature docies.
“Spirited Away” is less about Halloween and more about the Day of the Dead. Several children’s shows strived to be inclusive in their holiday lineup, and The Wild Thornberrys is one of the few to that the holiday, which honors the spirits of the dead in Mexico, exists. In the episode, Eliza meets a little girl who teaches her about the holiday just as her family is preparing to film an episode of the docies about it.
Victorious: “Tori The Zombie” (Season 1, Episode 6)
Technically, Victorious didn’t have any Halloween episodes. Unlike both iCarly and Sam & Cat, which were set in the same continuity and from the same production team, there was never a Victorious episode centered around Halloween. That’s a real shame because a performing arts school probably would have done some very creative Halloween or Day of the Dead projects.
That being said, it makes its way into Nickelodeon’s Halloween episodes simply because Tori spends almost the entire storyline in zombie makeup that she can’t remove. After Cat accidentally “grizzly glues” zombie makeup to Tori’s face, Tori has to try to get it off in time for her big leading role in a play. The zombie makeup that Tori is in really makes fans wish Victorious had done a proper Halloween special.
As Told By Ginger: “I Spy A Witch” (Season 1, Episode 13)
Taking its cues from the Arthur Miller play “The Crucible,” As Told By Ginger gives Nickelodeon a witch-themed episode - sort of. While there are witches in the school musical, the episode is more about the themes of the play than it is witches as they’re associated with Halloween. “I Spy A Witch” did originally air a few days before Halloween in 2001 as part of Nickelodeon’s Halloween lineup though.

20 Best Cartoon Network Halloween Episodes, Ranked
Cartoon Network leans into its weirdness (and sometimes grossness) to create fun and compelling Halloween-themed episodes.
In the episode, Ginger loses out on performing as the lead in the school musical because one of her classmates frames her for a prank. The musical features a young woman accused of witchcraft who denies the claims, just like Ginger denies the prank. Eventually, she is able to prove her classmate wrong and get her spot on stage.
iCarly: "iScream On Halloween" (Season 1, Episode 7)
While the rebooted iCarly didn't include a Halloween special, the original Nickelodeon series had two Halloween episodes. One didn't actually take place on Halloween, but 'iScream on Halloween" did. The episode begins when Carly and Spencer receive mail for another apartment and later learn that said apartment has been vacant for 15 years because it's reported to be haunted.
Upon hearing the news, Carly and her friends decide to host their weekly web show from the haunted apartment. Of course, spooky things start happening in the apartment, however it's later revealed that the apartment is occupied by the original tenant's son.
The Casagrandes: "New Haunt" (Season 1, Episode 5)
The Casagrandes is a spin-off of the popular Nickelodeon series The Loud House. The series revolves around Ronnie and her immediate family, who move to a new town and move in with their large extended family.
"New Haunt" is the first Halloween episode of the show and centers on Ronnie, who has decided to skip Halloween with her family to attend a cool party. However, the party isn't what Ronnie expected, and she soon misses her family and all the fun they usually have on Halloween.
Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide: "Halloween & Vampires, Werewolves, Ghosts and Zombies" (Season 3, Episode 5)
Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide was one of Nickelodeon's most clever original series, which is why it ran for three seasons. The show was a fan favorite because of the survival tips that were featured in each episode, and Nickelodeon's Halloween episodes of the series were no exception.
Season 3 of the show featured two Halloween episodes that aired together. The first focused on a school-wide Halloween party that turned spooky when everyone thought Principal Pal had died. The second episode turned the middle school into a real-life nightmare with the students taking on the identities of their costumes. Tips included: "Get involved, Throw a scary party" and "Too much candy can give you nightmares."
Fairly OddParents: "Scary Godparents" (Season 2, Episode 12)
With ten seasons, The Fairly OddParents aired quite a fair share of holiday-themed episodes. While their Christmas installments remain popular, many people forget about the classic Halloween-themed episode that aired during season 2 despite it being one of the most action-packed entries into the series.
"Scary Godparents" takes place on Halloween night with Timmy in a lame costume. Stuck trick-or-treating with Vicky, Timmy decides to wish that everybody's costumes were real and scary, including his own mummy costume. However, disaster strikes when the rich kids turn into giant monster robots, making for some interesting entertainment.
