The Boy Wonder new Absolute Universe introduces a younger Batman than ever before, some fans have wondered if there's any room for Robin. Thankfully, Absolute Batman's writer just essentially confirmed plans are in the works for Absolute Robin's debut.
Absolute Batman #1 has been wildly successful, going into reprint three times so far. This is fantastic news, as during a Q&A on X, the writer of Absolute Batman, Scott Snyder, confirmed that DC's new continuity will include its own Robin, so long as fans stay interested long enough. Asked if Absolute Batman will include a version of Robin, Snyder replied, "If you keep buying the book definitely."
Given Absolute Batman's immense success on its debut, fan interest isn't likely to fade away anytime soon. If fans continuing to buy Absolute Batman is the only barrier to meeting the Boy Wonder of this incredibly dark reality, then it's essentially guaranteed that Absolute Robin is on his way.

Scott Snyder Confirms That If Absolute Batman Continues to Sell, He'll Introduce Robin
Absolute Batman #1 by Scott Snyder, Nick Dragotta, Frank Martin and Clayton Cowles
The Absolute Universe is a new reality built on the foundation of Darkseid's evil. In this world, new versions of iconic heroes are stripped of their traditional allies and advantages, transformed from the upholders of the status quo into rebels fighting against the very essence of their reality. In this continuity, Bruce Wayne is a young engineer who never left Gotham, while Joker is a trained assassin and billionaire, and Alfred Pennyworth is a mercenary who is gunning for the Dark Knight rather than helping him. The very moral fabric of the Absolute Universe is different, challenging these new versions of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman like never before.
Bringing a version of Robin into such a dark world is a very different proposition to the mainstream, billionaire Bruce Wayne recruiting yet another child sidekick, especially for a Bruce who is only 24. This version of Bruce Wayne is very different to the man fans know in DC's original reality. Not only is Bruce only 24, but he has far more connections in Gotham, with many of his traditional villains now being his close friends. His mother is also alive, blurring the lines between Bruce Wayne's murdered family and the connections he makes with other vigilantes as Batman.
DC has set a pattern of Batman recruiting troubled kids and helping them come to with tragedy in ways that allow them to process their rage and grief. However, Absolute Batman has no experience with this process and he's far younger, suggesting his relationship with any Robin would be more brotherly than father/son. Interestingly, this is how DC originally depicted his relationship with the first Robin Dick Grayson, though this has since been retconned to be a paternal bond.

Absolute Robin Already Has the 'Perfect' Design
A Fan Gag Turns Robin into a Parody of Absolute Batman's Muscles
In a hilarious reply to Snyder's post, one fan shared an image of Robin from the animated Teen Titans Go!, showing the Boy Wonder with a muscular torso. Fans have been joking online for weeks about how incredibly muscular Absolute Batman's Bruce Wayne is, and the image suggests Absolute Robin would be even more imposing. Snyder got in on the joke, replying "Bigger" to the proposed design.
Despite this 'concept art', it's unclear exactly what an Absolute version of Robin would be. It's possible it'd just be a new version of Dick Grayson, but it could also be an entirely new character. The possibilities are quite literally endless. In a universe ruled by evil, it's likely Robin will have a suitably intense origin, but there's no guarantee he'll consider Batman an ally. There's also the possibility he may not actually be Batman's sidekick - when underrated heroes like the Martian Manhunter are getting their own titles, it's certainly possible for the Boy Wonder.
According to Scott Snyder, Absolute Batman fans will meet this world's Robin if they stick with the series long enough, meaning it's just a matter of time until a very new Boy Wonder debuts in this unique reality shaped by Darkseid's evil.
