After an unfortunate breakup during a Christmas party, Jess is understandably upset, and her friends can't help but notice. Nick and the crew are in the car, but he decides to take a pitstop at Candy Cane Lane, a beautiful place full of Christmas lights and decorations.
However, they arrive too late and all the lights are off. Wanting to cheer Jess up so badly, everyone begins to yell in the neighborhood to turn on their lights, and to their surprise, they do. They all jump around for joy, and it brings a smile to Jess' face, which is what she needed most after the breakup.
Nick & Schmidt's Cookie War
Schmidt decides to give Nick a cookie because he was thinking about him, but Nick thinks there is something else behind it and grows suspicious. He can't seem to handle the simple but nice gesture and finally ends up giving Schmidt a cookie of his own, which makes him upset.
Nick then breaks down and says that he does not deserve the friendship from Schmidt, and he says over and over, "You gave me a cookie, I got you cookie" until he bursts into tears. The two end up sharing an endearing moment and hug it out.
Jess Picks Up Cece's Modeling Gig
After spending Cece's birthday with her modeling friends, Jess gets upset and blurts out that modeling has made Cece dumber. Cece happens to hear it, and things get tense between the two. Jess later ends up covering for Cece at a modeling gig.
Once she arrives, Jess realizes how hard modeling actually is, and she struggles during her shoot. The two sit down together and they both make up while learning more about each other. Jess tells Cece that she is brave and has always been braver than her. The moment allows the two to grow in their friendship and gain mutual respect for their careers.
Coach Keeps Winston's Crepe Pan
When Coach is moving to New York with his girlfriend, he makes it clear that he doesn't want to bring anything that will remind him of his friends in the loft. Winston is particularly hurt by this and thinks that Coach doesn't even want to his once good friends.
However, when Coach has his suitcase packed up, the crepe pan that Coach and Winston bought together makes a noise inside, and Winston's face lights up. They both end up crying hysterically together, but this act from Coach is one that fans love.
Nick's Stays In The Loft
Nick makes the decision to move out with his girlfriend, and all his roommates think it's a bad idea. Even though they have given them their thoughts, Nick is set on moving, and they him nonetheless. They try to move on and even look for another roommate, but it doesn't feel right without Nick, and one night Nick returns and plays one of his old mixtapes from high school.
Everyone dances in their rooms and celebrates that Nick has returned. This moment puts a smile on everyone's faces to see Jess and her friends being together.
Schmidt & Cece's Wedding
After being on a plane all day when he is supposed to get married, Schmidt is upset. However, when the elevator door opens, his best guy friends are all standing there waiting in suits and ties. Schmidt is in shock and asks what they are doing, and they lead him into the loft where more of his friends and Cece are there for him, and they can have their wedding after all.
Seeing all their friends come together to help out and make the day as special as they can is the ultimate gesture that shows their tight-knit friendship.
Nick's Friends Pay For His Ultrasound
Nick has to go to the doctor to get an ultrasound to make sure he doesn't have cancer. He is low on money, but he needs to get checked up. He comes out with the good news that he does not have cancer, and when he goes to the front desk to pay, the woman at the desk says it's already paid for.
He turns to his friends, and Jess says that they all split the bill. This is a heartwarming moment, both because Nick does not have cancer, and that his friends were all there to him financially and emotionally.
20 Years Of Friendship
After 2o years of friendship, it all comes down to an argument about a purse Cece and Jess both see at a sale. They agree that neither of them will get it, but Cece finds out later that Jess has the purse. Things go downhill from there, and it turns into a physical fight.
They both end up at the hospital, and as they sit there together, they make up fairly quickly and realize how stupid their fight was. Jess says "I can't believe I've known you for twenty years and you're still my favorite person to talk to." It's clear that there will be many more years of friendship between Jess and Cece and how nothing can pull them apart.
