Directed by Niki Caro, The Mother centers on an assassin who comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she abandoned earlier in life. Jennifer Lopez stars as the titular, deadly matriarch, while Risen's Joseph Fiennes, Gael Garcia Bernal, and Omari Hardwick have also been cast in undisclosed roles. Despite being touted as an action film, the first clip of The Mother used in Netflix's teaser is rather serene, with Lopez sailing across a tundra at dusk before more predictably settling on Lopez saving her daughter on a motorbike. Although there is no official release date set for The Mother, its inclusion in Netflix's 2022 preview video confirms Caro's film will release before the end of the year.
The Adam Project
The Adam Project is teased in several differing clips from Netflix's preview video, with Reynolds and his younger self (Walker Scobell) wielding a lightsaber-Esque weapon before flying away in a futuristic jet. The Adam Project is set for an initial release on March 11th, 2022.
Day Shift
Day Shift centers on a hard-working, blue-collar dad whose mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income: hunting and killing vampires. Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco are set to star in the horror-comedy, with Netflix's new teaser showing several clips of Foxx in a high-speed chase and being hunted by a pale vampire. As with The Mother before it, Day Shift's high-octane narrative is set to debut in 2022, although Netflix has not set an official release date yet.
The Gray Man

Escape From Spiderhead
Joseph Kosinski's sci-fi thriller sees two convicts confront their pasts in a facility run by a visionary who gives them emotion-altering drugs. Set in the near future, Escape From Spiderhead appears to be a real mind-bending affair, with Thor's Chris Hemsworth taking on the lead role of a man simply known as "Abnesti." Not much is shown by the Netflix teaser regarding Spiderhead other than Hemsworth's character, who addresses the audience directly, but if the original dystopian short story by George Saunders is anything to go by, Escape From Spiderhead will be packed with twists and turns.
Slumberland
Slumberland director Francis Lawrence is best known for his high-budget fantasies, including I Am Legend, The Hunger Games, and Constantine - meaning Slumberland is almost guaranteed to be a quality rip-roaring adventure. Based on Winsor McCay's beloved comic book Little Nemo in Slumberland, Slumberland centers on one girl's journey to find her late father in a perilous dream world. She is led by Jason Momoa's Flip, who is seen in the 2022 Netflix preview atop a magical lighthouse beckoning audiences to "go places your dreams can't dream of." Slumberland is set for a currently unspecified 2022 release date.
Falling For Christmas
Netflix may well be delivering its greatest festive gift of all via Lindsay Lohan's return to acting in 2022. Although details remain incredibly scant for now, Lohan's latest turn will be in Netflix's festive rom-com Falling For Christmas, where she will play an engaged hotel heiress who suffers amnesia in a skiing accident before waking up in the arms of a handsome stranger. Netflix's latest teaser offers a brief glimpse of Lohan in action as she walks past an adorned Christmas tree, with Falling For Christmas set for a release around 2022's festive period.
Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio
Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio is certainly poised to deliver a darker version of the Disney classic, with Del Toro himself confirming his Pinocchio will be spiritually much closer to the original 1883 Carlo Collodi novel The Adventures of Pinocchio. The first looks at Netflix's Pinocchio confirm this stance, with the streaming giant's teaser showing a threadbare marionette puppet interacting with Ewan McGregor's Sebastian J. Cricket in the stop-motion animated movie. Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio is set for a December 2022 release exclusively on Netflix.
A Madea Homecoming
The 12th official movie in the Madea film series also marks creator Tyler Perry's Netflix debut for the titular character he has been playing since 1999. A Madea Homecoming will see Madea deal with an eruption of drama at her great-grandson's college graduation, hinting at new levels of hilarity for the now Netflix-backed franchise. Netflix's teaser offers little additional information on A Madea Homecoming, with just one shot of Perry's Madea saying "Hallelujah!" on her doorstep. A Madea Homecoming releases on February 25th, 2022.
Boo!
Marlon Wayans' latest Netflix movie looks riotous from the offset, with Boo!'s story focussing on a teenage girl (Priah Ferguson) who accidentally unleashes a mischievous spirit on Halloween before teaming up with her father (Respect's Marlon Wayans) to save her town. The initial clips of Boo! provided by Netflix prove Wayans' new film is as zany as it sounds, showing Ferguson's unnamed protagonist screaming before Wayans is choked by an animated pair of decorative arms.
