Naruto is one of the best anime series of all time, and this underrated team is a big reason why. One of these ninja was involved in arguably the greatest trio of all time. Ninja teams in Naruto all operate in trios, working under a more experienced teacher who can show them the ninja way. This trio in particular stood out more than most, turning the tides of the Second Great Ninja War almost entirely by themselves. Most people focus on Kakashi's Team Seven as the greatest ninja team in the series, but there might be another Team Seven that deserves more credit.

The Second Team 7 Is Amazing

The second Team Seven is one of the greatest teams in Naruto. The team consisted of Kakashi Hatake, Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchiha. Two of the characters in the group went on to become Hokage, one of them became the Shadow Hokage, and the other is one of the strongest female ninja in the series. All four of them are some of the strongest characters in Naruto, and they've saved the world on more than one occasion.

Naruto and Sasuke are closer to Gods than ninja. If it weren't for their absurd talent, dedication, and perseverance, the ninja world would be a shell of its former glory. With their strength leading the next generation, the ninja world has experienced an unprecedented level of peace and technological development. They were the strongest ninja team of their generation and one of the greatest duos ever, but there is one other ninja team that might deserve more appreciation than Kakashi's Team Seven.

The First Team 7 Might Be Even Better

Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade

Kakashi's Team Seven wasn't the first Team Seven in Naruto. Before Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura were even born, the original Team Seven consisted of Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru. Jiraiya is one of the strongest and most free-willed ninja in the world, using Sage Jutsu when nobody else could. Tsunade is the granddaughter of the first Hokage and the person to reinvent and improve medical ninjutsu. Orochimaru was regarded as a child prodigy and used his immense intellect to create some of the strongest jutsu in Naruto.

Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura are each immensely powerful because of the original Team Seven. Jiraiya taught Naruto, Tsunade taught Sakura, and Orochimaru taught Sasuke. It's because of the Legendary Sannin that the second Team Seven is so great, and the original trio deserves more attention because of it.

The First Team 7 Was Called the Legendary Sannin for a Reason

The Legendary Sannin Turned the Tides of the Second Great Ninja War

During the Second Great Ninja War, the first Team Seven was the only group to survive Hanzō of the Salamander's attacks. He titled them the "Legendary Sannin", signifying how much stronger they were than any other ninja from the Village Hidden in the Leaves. Each of the Sannin was considered for the position of Hokage, and Tsunade eventually took the opportunity, becoming the Fifth.

Without the original Team Seven, nobody would have guided Naruto out of his despair, Sakura wouldn't be the powerhouse of a kunoichi she's known as, and Sasuke would never have gained the strength needed to avenge his clan. They're pivotal to the story of Naruto and rarely get the respect they deserve.
