Half a year after it first came to theaters, My Hero Academia: You’re Next is finally making its way to Crunchyroll. My Hero Academia: You’re Next takes place during the brief amount of downtime Izuku had before the final battle with Shigaraki, during which time he had to fight Dark Might, a mafioso with a twisted understanding of All Might’s ideology looking to take over Japan amidst its chaotic state.

My Hero Academia: You’re Next is a film every My Hero Academia fan should see, and that just got a lot easier. Netflix recently acquired My Hero Academia: You’re Next as part of its ever-growing anime library, and Crunchyroll won’t be too far behind, as My Hero Academia: You’re Next will officially begin streaming today at 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST) and 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). It’s truly a standout film in My Hero Academia’s library, and with it finally coming to Crunchyroll, even more people can see why it’s so great.

Why My Hero Academia: You’re Next Should Be On Everyone’s Watchlist

Why My Hero Academia: You're Next Is So Great

My Hero Academia fans will soon have an even easier time watching its latest film, and they would be remiss not to watch it. From a visual standpoint, My Hero Academia: You’re Next has some of the best animation and overall direction of any My Hero Academia project to date, with every fight scene being a visual spectacle from start to finish, especially the final fight with Dark Might. My Hero Academia’s visual spectacle has always been one of its biggest draws, and anyone looking for more of that will undoubtedly get a lot out of You’re Next.

The biggest reason to watch You’re Next comes from its strong writing. Not only are the returning characters as fun as ever and given plenty of great moments to shine, but the new characters are all given plenty of development that makes them all entertaining in their own right, especially Giulio Gandini and Dark Might. It all comes together for a thrilling, action-packed narrative with plenty of heart, and since it came out not long after the manga’s finale, My Hero Academia: You’re Next’s action-packed story works even better when framed as a complement to the manga’s relatively low-key finale.

Will My Hero Academia: You’re Next Be The Final My Hero Academia Movie?

With how great My Hero Academia: You’re Next is, that begs the question if there will be another film to follow it. While it would make sense for You’re Next to be the final film, anime like Naruto and The Seven Deadly Sins have had films taking place after their final seasons to close out their stories, so My Hero Academia could easily put out another film as a follow-up to My Hero Academia: You’re Next, despite entering its final season. The manga’s open-ended finale especially gives credence to the idea, and overall, it would be great to see.

All of that is hypothetical, of course, and whether there’s a fifth film or not shouldn’t take away from how great You’re Next is. Between its great animation and engaging narrative, You’re Next is easily one of the best My Hero Academia movies, and as such, My Hero Academia: You’re Next is a great enough film to serve as a fitting finale to My Hero Academia’s film franchise. There’s so much that My Hero Academia: You’re Next has going for it, and with the film finally making its way to Crunchyroll, even more people will finally understand that.
