Damon Lindelof's new series, Mrs. Davis, features a nun battling artificial intelligence. Lindelof came to prominence as a writer and co-creator of the series Lost before contributing to scripts for films like World War Z and Star Trek Into Darkness. Mrs. Davis sees Lindelof returning to television following The Leftovers and 2019's critically acclaimed Watchmen adaptation. Lindelof shares writing and producing credits on Mrs. Davis with Tara Hernandez, who will serve as showrunner for the series.

According to Variety, Mrs. Davis has cast GLOW's Betty Gilpin in the lead role. Owen Harris, who previously helmed various Black Mirror episodes, including fan-favorite San Junipero, is also said to be directing several episodes, including the pilot. Plot details about the series are still tightly under wraps, though the core premise sees a nun (Gilpin) who must contend with an all-powerful artificial intelligence. Beyond that initial setup, Mrs. Davis is said to examine faith vs. technology, which is befitting of Lindelof's talents.

Mrs. Davis will also serve as a reunion for Lindelof and Gilpin. Lindelof produced and co-wrote 2020's controversial film The Hunt, which starred Gilpin in the lead role. Mrs. Davis also looks to be well within Lindelof's wheelhouse, as he has tackled numerous projects with unique sci-fi concepts, like Cowboys & Aliens and Tomorrowland. The series is set to stream exclusively on Peacock following a series order from back in May of 2021. However, the show currently doesn't have a release date. Further details on Mrs. Davis will be forthcoming as the series develops.
