Witch Watch is a romantic comedy set in a fantasy world with supernatural creatures where Morihito Otogi, a human-looking ogre, is suddenly surprised by the news that he will be the familiar of Nico Wakatsuki, his witch childhood friend to whom he will also have to welcome into his home.

However, the true intention of Nico is to get closer to Morihito, since she is in love with him. This sets up many absurd and hilarious situations because of all the problems that arise from Nico's irresponsible and uncontrolled use of magic. Additionally, Witch Watch's biggest appeal as a parody is the amount of references to other series and funny moments that won't fail to bring a smile to the viewers.

9 Go! Go! Loser Ranger!

Animated by Yostar Píctures; Based on the Manga by Negi Haruba

A subversion to the classic Super Sentai genre which originated the Power Rangers, Go! Go! Loser Ranger was one of the biggest surprises in 2024, which successfully engaged viewers by giving a dark twist to superheroes and making viewers root for the villain instead. Loser Ranger! follows the story of Fighter D, who rebels and decides to infiltrate among humans and stop the oppression of his fellow Dusters by defeating the Dragon Keepers.

Loser Ranger! seeks to showcase what would happen if the heroes weren't good, maintaining an incredible tension and intrigue about what will happen as D and his allies try to change the status quo of the corrupted society. Additionally, Go! Go! Loser Ranger's first installment was characterized by omitting several parts from the source material for a fast-paced adaptation which creates anticipation as to how the new season will present the arcs of the story following the events after Fighter D is assigned to a battalion.

Similar to Komi Can't Communicate, Aharen-san is Indecipherable follows the story of a quiet high school girl struggling with socialization, as she can't measure her distance from other people and is also bad at communicating. However, Aharen starts coming out of her shell after befriending Raido, a kind and also inexpressive student who will do his best to understand her.

While this might sound generic to viewers, the best part of Aharen-san is Indecipherable is the dynamic between Aharen and Raido, who are both eccentric and have an absurd imagination, creating many hilarious misunderstandings and funny situations as they learn to relate to others and their relationship grows stronger.

7 Wind Breaker Season 2

Wind Breaker follows Haruka Sakura after he enters Furin High School, which is said to be filled with dangerous gang who clash over territory. However, more than delving into violence and the struggle to find the strongest through street fights, Wind Breaker's main point is how it highlights the importance of unity among comrades.

Wind Breaker features exciting fights, each with its own unique style and incredibly fluid animation, but it also focuses on the search for identity and the struggle between principles and ideals that help showcase its characters' pasts and the reasons for their actions. Additionally, after a successful first installment, which ended after the Bofurin defeated the Shishitoren, Wind Breaker's season 1 finale teases a new confrontation as Sakura goes to face the KEEL gang, an encounter that promises intense action sequences.

6 The Beginning After the End

Devil May Cry's story—which is loosely based on Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy—centers around Dante, a demon hunter who operates a paranormal investigation agency that accepts missions to eliminate demonic threats, presenting an intriguing world filled with action and revenge that has made it one of the most popular video game franchises, now looking to take over the anime medium.

Despite being marketed as an anime, Devil May Cry is produced by a studio outside of Japan. However, given Madhouse's 2007 adaptation of Devil May Cry: The Animated Series, this new entry in the franchise has generated high expectations among anime fans. While it is still uncertain if the series will follow the games or an original story, several hints from the trailer (like the White Rabbit, Lady, and Vergil) serve to point out that it will be mostly based on the manga spin-off, which serves as a prequel to Devil May Cry 3.

4 Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is the first work of Bones's new subsidiary studio Bones Film, promising stunning cinematic animation. Bones Film is also in charge of Gachiakuta's anime adaptation.

Unlike My Hero Academia, whose story is mostly tied to a school setting, Vigilantes has a broader view of the series' universe, as these anonymous heroes face real-life crimes like drug distribution, street fights, and secret criminal organizations, being much more mature and darker work. This, besides its incredibly complex cast of heroes, makes it a great fit for those who haven’t watched My Hero Academia but enjoy superhero stories. Additionally, Vigilantes complements My Hero Academia’s story well, since it delves into what's behind the rise of heroes, how society works, and the past of different heroes and villains.

2 Fire Force Season 3

Almost five years after the end of its second season, Fire Force finally returns to conclude the story of Shinra Kusakabe and Company 8. Fire Force presents a dystopian future where humanity has evolved, generating a spontaneous combustion phenomenon that turns people into destructive creatures called Infernals, with the Fire being the ones in charge of exterminating them. The previous season of Fire Force adapted to the Stigma Arc, ending as the White-Clad were preparing for a major movement that would put the Tokyo Empire at risk.

Based in a futuristic world—sharing the same atmosphere as Watanabe’s previous works—the anime could not only be a standout science fiction series, but viewers will also be in for a treat to the eyes of incredible fighting sequences as Lazarus’s action scenes counted with the assistance of Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick saga.

The anime follows the Lazarus team, who have to track down Dr. Skinner, who was believed to have created a drug to cure all diseases, but this was actually part of his plan to sentence those who consumed it to imminent death. This way, these groups have to force the scientists to create a cure before it's too late. Based on the trailer's stunning animation, Lazarus is a must-watch series that none anime fan should let slip, even those unfamiliar with Watanabe’s works.
