MK11 Aftermath adds a brand-new segment to the game's Story Mode that takes place after the events of the original game. In addition, Aftermath brought back Sheeva and Fujin to the Mortal Kombat 11 roster, alongside Alex Murphy of Robocop fame, bringing the fighter count from its original number of 25 to an impressive 34 with post-launch additions ed for. Now, the Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate Edition looks to continue the trend, with new content and some upgrades to go along with it.
The Ultimate Edition of Mortal Kombat 11 bundles all of the previous content and promises a host of upgrades to the existing package. Cross-play will be fully implemented into the title, allowing players to battle each other on either the PlayStation or Xbox family of consoles. Owners of the original game will also be entitled to a free the next-gen version, offering improved load times, 4K resolution, and cross-generation to coincide with the launch of the Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate Edition will also come with the brand-new Kombat Pack 2, introducing three new-yet-familiar combatants to MK11.
Who MK11's New DLC Characters Are
Perhaps the most requested character from Mortal Kombat's expansive lineup of characters, Mileena finally s the latest installment of the franchise. A Tarkatan-Edenian hybrid, Mileena was created in the Flesh Pits by Shang Tsung as a clone of Princess Kitana to serve under Shao Kahn, the Emperor of Outworld at the time of her creation. Mileena would eventually succeed Shao Kahn after the events of Mortal Kombat (2011), taking his place on the throne before meeting her demise at the hands of D'Vorah. With Mileena back in a world where Kitana has assumed the throne of Outworld, fans of the franchise are given a new dynamic between the duo to explore with Mileena's return.
ing Mileena is the Edenian demigod, Rain. Last playable in Mortal Kombat (2011), Rain made an appearance in the Story Mode of MKX, working alongside Mileena and aiding her ascension to the throne of Outworld. During the course of the story, it is revealed that Rain wished to take the throne for himself, organizing a plot involving the theft of Shinnok's Amulet in an effort to claim the crown from under Mileena. With both characters returning to the roster, players can finally see the fallout of Rain's deception and the dissolution of their deadly alliance.
Rounding out the roster of newcomers, NetherRealm Studios continues to pay homage to the roots of Mortal Kombat with the addition of another action icon from the 80s. After numerous rumors surrounding his appearance, John Rambo is finally confirmed to be ing the MK11 cast. Portrayed by Sylvester Stallone in the five-movie series, the actor returns to the role here, donning the bandana and lending his iconic likeness and voice to the character and bringing him to life once again.
With the Ultimate Edition of Mortal Kombat 11, players will get an incredible value at USD $59.99 as pre-orders (complete with an exclusive skin-pack) go live on October 15th.
