new guest character Ghostface in action are in luck because NetherRealm Studios finally showcased the horror movie icon's first Fatality. The Mortal Kombat series is no stranger to hosting barbaric slasher villains with previous games like Mortal Kombat 9 including Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street and Mortal Kombat X featuring Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th. Ghostface may not be an unkillable menace like some of the game's super-powered fighters but they more than make up for it their sinister combat knife and partner in crime.
Posted to YouTube, the launch trailer for the Khaos Reigns expansion showcases some of the features included in the DLC before capping it all off with Ghostface's Fatality.
While relatively simple when compared to the likes of Omni-Man and Homelander, the sinister slash across the belly and the musical stinger will certainly appeal to Scream fans. Finishing on a high, the Fatality even incorporates a second Ghostface, a recurring theme in the film series which helps explain how the serial killer is able to appear in several places at once.
What Else Is New In Khaos Reigns?
More Than A Few Familiar Faces
Aside from Ghostface's Fatality, which is undoubtely the highlight of the latest Khaos Reigns trailer, the video touches on some of the other aspects fans can expect from the DLC. Most notable is the new campaign which sees the villainous Havik, an enemy from an alternate timeline, threatening Liu Kang's New Era. Players will take on the role of several champions to push back Havik's forces and save their reality before the Titan spreads his influence too far and drowns the realm in khaos.
Beyond the new story, Khaos Reigns also features a plethora of new content for players to unlock. A slew of additional characters will be available at launch, including Noob Saibot, Cyrax, and Sektor while Ghostface and fellow guest fighters Conan the Barbarian and the T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgement Day will be added in the coming months. The expansion also adds new skins, Brutalities, and even the fan-favorite Animality which the trailer showcases in all its savage glory.

Mortal Kombat 1: How to Unlock Havik
The wielder of blood magic known as Havik returns to Mortal Kombat 1 for you to unlock as a reward for those who check out the game's immersive story.
While Mortal Kombat 1 may not have resonated with players like NetherRealm may have wanted, the game is still a great deal of fun. The fact that the studio is continuing to build upon the experience with new cosmetics and characters demonstrates how much they believe in it as a platform. With Ghostface looming in the shadows, there's never been a better time to learn those combos.
