most iconic horror series of all time, so it stands to reason that Mortal Kombat would want the murderer to its roster. They'll enter the ranks of other popular villains like Jason Voorhees, the Xenomorph, and the Predator, who have all been guest fighters.
Posting to X (formerly Twitter), Boon shared a brief new trailer demonstrating Ghostface in action as they go toe-to-toe with Johnny Cage.
Starting off the match with their catchphrase "Do you like scary movies?" the rest of the brawl features the Scream villain ripping into their opponent with their combat knife, landing several visceral blows. Mortal Kombat 1 has even incorporated the Scream trope of multiple Ghostface killers being active at once as a sidekick briefly steps in to help extend a combo that ends in a devasting chest-carving throw.
Ghostface Seems To Have Some Killer Moves In Mortal Kombat
Worthy Of The Woodsboro Menace
While the brief snippet doesn't showcase an extensive look at Ghostface's kit, more information will likely be revealed closer to the character's early access release on November 19. The tenth DLC character to be added to Mortal Kombat 1, Ghostface appears to play very differently compared to other guest fighters like Omni-Man (Invincible) and Homelander (The Boys). If anything, he looks to be similar to Peacemaker (DC Universe) given his reliance on heavy close-range attacks and gadgets for zoning.
Of course, what Mortal Kombat 1 fans most further incorporating Ghostface's partner, going so far as to include the characters' iconic knife clean move. The second Fatality has yet to be revealed but a split-second clip suggests it will involve them sneaking up on their opponent who's seemingly sitting on a sofa watching a horror film.

What To Expect From Ghostface Upon Release
Fans Are Already Excited
Mortal Kombat 1 has already treated the community to some excellent guest characters, but fans are very excited about Ghostface. I can understand why: As someone who loves the Scream movies, it's great to see the character being recognized as an icon. I may not be a big fighting game fan, but I'm excited to see the community figure out how to make Ghostface effective against the likes of someone like Omni-Man.
