Money Heist kept fans on the edge of their seats with every nerve-wracking twist and turn. But in spite of being an action thriller at its heart, the show managed to create characters that connected with audiences across the world and fans found themselves rooting for the Professor and his gang.

Although the show brought characters back from the dead, especially Berlin who had extended flashbacks, the character's last lines before some of them were tragically killed off will be considered their final quote. That is, for all except Tokyo, who narrated the series from start to finish, despite dying in the first part of season 5.

Helsinki

"Come with me."

"Maybe you doubt it, but I don't."

Helsinki smiling in Money Heist

The war veteran stays somewhat in the background in the first few episodes of the series. His first line is inconspicuous as he ushers a hostage towards him under Berlin's orders so that he could be searched for a phone that had been stolen from the robbers.

Helsinki is revealed to be a kind, good-hearted man as the series progresses. He also develops a relationship with Palermo during the Bank of Spain heist and his last line is addressed to the latter. Helsinki lies seriously wounded inside the bank but tells Palermo that he has faith in him that he would be able to get Helsinki out of there, alive. Seeing how he has grown to love the quirky Palermo, it is perfectly apt that he should speak his last line to him, gently and quietly.

Rio

"So planets?"

"Thank you."

Young Rio's first words come when the team is trying to figure out their aliases for the first heist. Since the Professor suggests that they could choose numbers, planets, or city names, Rio wonders if they could go with planets.

Rio's last line in the series is a heartfelt thank you to the Professor for bringing the whole team together and planning a phenomenal heist simply to rescue Rio from the Spanish police. Rio was certainly not the only reason Sergio had planned the Bank of Spain robbery, but he was saved nonetheless from inhuman torture because of the Professor.

Denver

"So Lord 17 and Lady 23?"

"I didn't say a word by the way."

Denver smiling on top of a pile of money in Money Heist.

Initially set up as the resident moron of sorts, Denver's first words reflect his tendency to play the fool. As the Professor tells his recruits to pick names or numbers so that none of the team get to know each other personally, Denver picks numbers and wonders if they can be addressed as lords and ladies.

By the time the series ends, Denver is the only one on the team who almost breaks under pressure and gets ready to save himself and his wife Monica in exchange for giving up information on the stolen gold and the Professor. When the latter finally convinces Tamayo to let the thieves go, Denver is let off too. And he tells his friends that he never actually played snitch, which indeed he didn't, perfectly in keeping with his reckless but ultimately decent nature.

Moscow

"What do you mean five months?"

"I love you."

Moscow's death scene in Money Heist

Moscow's introduction involved him asking the Professor why putting the plan to action would take as long as five months. Naturally, this question would have arisen in the minds of all the robbers, since none of them had done anything like this before.

Moscow dies tragically in part 2 after being fatally wounded by the police. In a heartbreaking scene, he bids goodbye to his friends, and son Denver, telling the latter that he loves him. Moscow's last words left him as well as the other gang and fans teary-eyed.

Stockholm

"Please breathe."

"And it's irreversible."

Stockholm in Money Heist

Before the Royal Mint of Spain heist began and she was thrust headlong into an intense series of events, Monica Gaztambide, one of the bravest Money Heist hostages, was worrying over her toxic relationship with Arturo. Her first line came when the latter sneaked up on her from behind and told her that she took his breath away.

Stockholm spoke for the last time when the whole gang was at gunpoint under Tamayo's orders. She told Palermo and Manila, who were still vaguely optimistic, that all she could think of was the irreversible fact of Denver having been arrested. Since she and Denver were part of the secondary romantic narrative in the show, it made sense that her last line on the show would involve the man she loved.

Nairobi

"You know what you should have done back there?"

"I don't know."

Nairobi lying on the sand in Money Heist

Nairobi didn't have her first line until the first heist in season 1 was underway and Tokyo had just literally taken a shot at the police. Always more level-headed than Tokyo, she yells at her friend for not sticking to the Professor's plan and engaging in a gunfight in which Rio was injured.

Nairobi dies a terrible death that is hard to watch and harder to fathom. She becomes a puppet in the hands of the sadistic Gandia who is high on getting revenge and gives the vibrant young woman a rather humiliating death. Her last line comes just before a heart-stopping face-off between Gandia and the other of the gang when Denver asks her where her torturer is inside the room. It is heartbreaking to watch her helpless in her last minutes, and her last line is a testament to that.

Berlin

"I assure you that a psychopath with a gun is scarier than a skeleton."

"I spent my life being a bit of an a**hole, but today I think I feel like dying with dignity."

Berlin standing in front of a staircase in Money Heist

One of the smartest Money Heist characters, flamboyant Berlin's first line came at the beginning of the first heist at the Royal Mint of Spain when Denver, Moscow, and Rio were arguing the degree of fear that their now infamous Dali masks invoked. He assured the others, with a gun pointed at them, no less, that the masks would work just fine to scare people, much more than skeletons.

Berlin delivered his last line just before he died very heroically taking a volley of bullets so that the others could escape safely. As the police closed in after the first heist, Sergio urged Berlin to get out of the tunnel, but of course, his older brother wouldn't agree. He informed Sergio that he wanted to call it lights out with dignity.

Lisbon

"Paula, you need a perfect flower here."

"Sergio!"

Lisbon with the professor beside her planning heist

One of the biggest shockers the series gave its fans came in the form of Raquel Murillo switching sides after falling for the Professor. However, before all that transpired, Raquel was struggling with her recent separation from her husband, and apart from being one of the top hostage negotiators in the police department, she also had a daughter to think of. In her first line, she is seen helping her daughter, Paula, with her homework.

The last quote Raquel, now Lisbon, delivers is a desperate call to Sergio, as they are running out of time and Tamayo has the entire gang except Sergio and Raquel at gunpoint, ready to be executed. Both Lisbon and Sergio are taking turns to reason with the inspector when Lisbon calls out to Sergio, fearing that they had failed after all.

Tokyo

"My name is Tokyo."

"So that no one in the gang would ever have to rob a bank again."

Tokyo lying down with her rifle in Money Heist Season 4.

As the narrator of the series, it made perfect sense that Tokyo should be introducing herself in the very first line. Here, she is seen lying prostrated with grief in her little den after having escaped the site of a bank robbery gone wrong, leaving her boyfriend for dead. With this line, she starts setting up the premise for the show, telling the audience how she became the elusive Professor's first recruit.

Tokyo has the last word in the show, even from beyond. She signs off as the remaining of the team manage to get out of the Bank of Spain and board a plane into obscurity after pulling off an unbelievable stunt. As the most badass of the lot, Tokyo got a fitting ending on Money Heist, although there were some characters who deserved more.

Sierra

"Talk to me."

"A little treasure house."

Alicia Sierra interrogating someone in Money Heist.

In its third part, the series introduced the intimidating Alicia Sierra who went on to become one of the most powerful characters in the show, on par with the Professor himself. When Alicia is first shown, she is torturing Rio for information on the others after the success of their first heist. When Tamayo calls her to summon her as a negotiator for the Bank of Spain heist, she directs her first dialogue to him.

Sierra is able to get off when the Professor holds the gold hostage and negotiates for the freedom of his team. She is last seen whispering the information about the gold's whereabouts to the Professor, which she had managed to trace to the little red house under which Berlin's son and ex-wife had concealed it. Her last line is an about-turn from the first in which she is all set to appear as a chief antagonist in seasons 3 and 4.

The Professor

"Excuse me, do you have a minute?"

"And the gold?"

The Professor walking up the stairs in Money Heist

The Professor makes a rather understated entry when he is seen driving up behind Tokyo in the first episode, and asks her whether she has a minute. He saves her from walking into a trap set up by the police and from that moment on, Tokyo can't dispel her curiosity about what the man is truly capable of.

His last line is appropriate as he asks Sierra about the gold just as she is about to drive off into oblivion with her daughter. Always a thinking man, he doesn't sign off spouting jingoism. As the brains behind the biggest heists Spain, and the world, had ever seen, he simply needs to know where the gold is, thus perfectly summing up his personality in Money Heist.
