Netflix right now and there is a reason for that. The show is well thought-out and has a unique pace to it which has been maintained across the four seasons so far.

Envisioned by Álex Pina, Money Heist released its first season on characters, some of whom we love, while some we absolutely hate. So, let's take a look at these characters.

Love: Monica Gaztambide aka Stockholm

Monica dressed in a red jumpsuit in Money Heist.

A hostage turned criminal, Monica's transformation from an innocent working-class woman to a member of Professor's gang is something brilliant to watch. She falls in love with Denver at The Royal Mint of Spain and she gets named Stockholm during the second robbery (inspired by Stockholm Syndrome).

Monica is a caring woman who helps Rio overcome his demons leftover from being tortured. She is down to earth, smart, and knows when to speak and when not to. Stockholm is a beautiful soul, isn't she?

Love: Tokyo

Tokyo is everything you don't want in a gang of mad people. She is a ticking time bomb that explodes in season 3 when Rio breaks up with her. But to be fair, she regroups and plays a huge role in bringing down Gandia.

Tokyo has an over-the-top personality that seemingly grows on every member of the team, including the Professor. She has a good heart and can do anything for her friends. Also, she is the narrator of this story.

Hate: Palermo

Palermo in Money Heist

Palermo s the Professor's squad in season 3 when they put together a plan to rob The Bank of Spain, owing to Rio's capture. The hate for him starts when viewers first recognized what an egocentric man he is.

The way he always insults Helsinki and other of the squad makes viewers despise him. And when he helps Gandia escape, it sets all sorts of chaos in motion, which ends with Nairobi being killed. After this happened, there was no way anyone would like Palermo unless he does something for the team.

Love: Denver

Denver is another character who is pretty upfront about everything. He doesn't know how to hide his feelings and that is what makes him so lovable. His sense of humor is also pretty good throughout the series and what he does for Monica in season 1 makes viewers' hearts melt.

He loves his dad Moscow, so it's understandable why he takes so much time to recover from his father's death. Also, the sound of his smile draws viewers towards him, which is a pretty weird concept you only understand if you have seen the show.

Love: Nairobi

Nairobi in Money Heist

Nairobi is, quite literally, the leader of men in Money Heist. She is someone who doesn't mince her words and says what she needs to say, even if it hurts you. Nairobi is pretty close to the gang as almost everyone loves her, leaving Palermo and Berlin aside, of course.

Her (Spoiler Alert) death in season 4 is such a sad moment for everyone and viewers will see the repercussions of her demise next season. When her body is brought out of The Bank of Spain, viewers will cry!

Hate: Arturo Roman

Arturo Roman tries to convince other hostages to escape in Money Heist

One of the most irritable characters in Money Heist is Arturo. It seems like he finds ways to make viewers hate him. He is a hostage during both robberies and to be honest, he likes being one. He seems to think of himself as some kind of hero when he is clearly not.

Arturo is a coward, who manipulates other hostages into doing things he cannot. During the fourth season, he also takes advantage of a woman, which makes one's respect for him very low. Even the sight of him makes viewers want to slam the screen.

Love: Helsinki

There is something about a cute monster, isn't it? Helsinki is just that. He is a big, bulky man who looks dangerous on the outside but is a sweet-hearted person on the inside. He is very close to almost everyone in the gang and he seemingly connects with Palermo (who doesn't open up to anyone), as well.

Helsinki is a very close friend to Nairobi and he doesn't take her death very well. Seeing him cry made hearts melt and he is definitely one of the best characters in Money Heist.

Love: Raquel Murillo aka Lisbon

Raquel Murillo is an inspector turned criminal who changed sides for love. Raquel is one of the purest characters in Money Heist. She leaves all of her past life for the Professor and that gesture makes everyone love her.

When she is caught by the police in season 4, she does everything she can to protect her love and in the end, her trust triumphs. Raquel and the Professor are meant to be together and there's no way viewers can take their eyes off of Lisbon's beauty.

Hate: Gandia

Gandia communicates with officers outside the Bank of Spain after breaking free of his cuffs in Money Heist

Gandia is the chief of security for the Governor of The Bank of Spain. When the gang first breaks into the bank, they are able to tie Gandia down but thanks to Palermo's idea, he escapes and unleashes hell on Tokyo and her team.

He kills Nairobi and traps Tokyo but the latter is able to escape from Gandia's clutches. Even though Gandia was doing his job, he didn't have to kill Nairobi in cold-blood and that's the biggest reason why he is currently the most hated character of Money Heist.

Love: Professor

It's hard not to love the mastermind behind all of the heists. The Professor is such a unique character. He isn't some psychopath. He is instead a sane man who, just like everyone else, knows that he must do the right thing, even if it seems to be in a morally gray area. He is also smarter than everyone else in the room at any given time.

He almost always finds a solution to every problem, no matter how complex it is. Professor will do anything to protect the team and he cares deeply for everyone in the gang. He is, by far, the most likable character in Money Heist.
