Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's Burger Town Operator skin will be made available, but players looking to get their hands on it will have to be aware of the skin's strange unlock conditions. Modern Warfare 2, which launches soon on October 28, is the sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare, continuing the franchise's revival of its original 2007 Modern Warfare series. Ahead of the game's release, fans have been given sneak peeks through an open beta and an early access program for some content creators.
Continuing the Call of Duty franchise's relatively busy release schedule, Modern Warfare 2 has set itself up for a massive launch, while also finally bucking the CoD series' hated file size trend. In keeping with series tradition, the game will include several multiplayer maps on launch, along with a variety of weapons, unlockables, and operator skins. While the game's recent beta had a few controversial gameplay features, some of which may be subject to change in the full release, MW2 has continued to build towards its release, even including some promotional deals.
As reported by some leaks pointing to tradeable skins in MW2, it is not yet known exactly how the Burger Town Operator might interact with those systems - or if the skin will be made available in the US, as strangely, it seems as though the promotional offer will not be available in American Burger Kings.
Modern Warfare 2's Burger Town Operator Is Coming From Burger King
The Call of Duty series is no stranger to interacting with other franchises, as seen by Warzone's various skins featuring even real-world celebrities like Snoop Dogg. However, collaborations taking place in real-world locations are something of an oddity in the gaming industry, and the promotion with Burger King will limit the Operator's availability. In addition, it is not yet known how long the promotion will run for, which may restrict the skin further, assuming that it doesn't become available through other means later in the game's life cycle.
While Modern Warfare 2 may have some more important problems to address, like the game's adoption of Overwatch 2's phone number requirement, as well as some controversial gameplay mechanics from the beta, the promotion may prove to be an unpopular decision with fans of the series. Not every player is likely to want or care about the Burger Town Operator, but the promotion does significantly limit the skin's availability, as well as seemingly making it off-limits to one of the series' biggest markets in the US. With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launching soon, more information on the promotion is likely to be forthcoming.
