The popular baseball video game, MLB The Show 23 includes a large roster of baseball legends, including Mark McGwire, Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, and more. Developed by San Diego Studios and published by Sony Interactive, this game takes the best of baseball and turns it into a video game for players everywhere to enjoy. MLB The Show 23's Legends Program is a star-studded roster that includes many of baseball's greatest players. As a result, the stats of these players are much higher, meaning getting any of these Legends on a team offers it an immediate boost. There are over 180 Legends included in MLB The Show from throughout the eras of baseball, and while some don't make the cut every game, more are also added each year. Hall of Famers and generational talent alike grace the list, allowing players of MLB The Show to build their own dream teams.

MLB The Show 23's New Legends Includes Some Controversial Choices
For the new 2023 edition of the game, MLB The Show added a couple of Legends to their compilation of greats, the choices of which have been met with some controversy. Both Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa are new additions for MLB The Show 23, hugely popular players from what's known as the "steroids era" of baseball. Despite their incredible stats, neither is likely to ever be inducted into the Hall of Fame due to their links to steroid use; making their inclusion in the Legends line-up somewhat contentious.
Collecting these Legends of baseball history and being able to incorporate them into a dream team is a popular aspect of MLB The Show. According to MLB The Show's website, each of these athletes has been hand-selected to this elite roster within the game and will give a boost to any team they are on. MLB The Show 23 was released on March 28, 2023, and is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
