Invasions mode has been updated for season 7 of Mortal Kombat 1. This model features two main aspects: Klues and Locked Gates. The former involves defeating enemies with certain conditions, like special moves, specific characters, or defensive plays. The latter are areas that are accessible only after defeating the final boss of Invasions and then re-exploring the area. Both yield cosmetic items, relics, and Kredits. In some cases, the Key Items are not directly behind gates but nearby along alternate routes.
Most of the Klues require either a correct character or the use of anyone. In all cases, you can use just the base roaster and don’t need to rely on any of the DLC options, like the six heroes released with MK1's Kombat Pack. Still, it is a great idea to be well-rounded with every fighter you have available. Mortal Kombat series staples like Johnny Cage, Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, and Scorpion are all useful during several key Invasions battles.

MK1: Homelander Character Guide (Moves, Kombos, & Fatalities)
Homelander, leader of the Seven, arrives in Mortal Kombat 1 as a guest character with moves, combos, and fatalities that reflect the Vought villain.

Win Fights With Certain Strategies
Klues in season 7 operate identically to how they did in Mortal Kombat 1. When you select an Invasion map, Klues will appear once you walk over their associated node. Outside the Klue’s name, there isn’t a direct way of knowing the real objective without experimenting. But, each will unlock with proper moves or tactics.

Explore Locations After Finishing Invasions
Season 7 includes seven new key items to find. You will always need to gain a certain one first, the Soul of the Sorcerer. This is obtained by defeating Shang Tsung, who serves as the story boss for the entire mode. You can use any character to defeat him, including a newcomer to Mortal Kombat 1 like Takeda.
YouTuber CJR Gaming took on the boss with a powered Rain and Scorpion. This can also be a great combo, as Shang Tsung takes extra damage from elemental attacks. After getting the Soul of Sorcerer by any means, you can explore Mortal Kombat 1 more. By returning to Invasions mode, you can open various locked gates and find key items lying around for collection.
