One ingenious Minecraft build places one of the game's Nether Portals in the blade of a giant, inter-dimensional sword. This makes yet another fascinating design for Minecraft players who want to venture into the mysterious realm of the Nether.

While heading into the Nether is often a dangerous task for Minecraft players, the rewards that can be found in this dimension are often worth it. The Nether is the only place where Minecraft's most valuable material, Netherite, can be found. Players can also travel across the Nether to find other unique and useful materials like Wither Skulls, Magma Cream, and Blaze Rods. Most materials that players will need to obtain in order to brew potions in Minecraft have to be found by venturing into the Nether, which makes it an unpleasant experience that players must eventually undertake. Most players will simply create a basic frame made of Obsidian, light the portal up with their Flint & Steel, and venture into the Nether. One Minecraft player on Reddit, though, showed a more creative way that players can enter the Nether.

Reddit sosajboi300 shared their creation, a giant sword with a Nether Portal built into the blade. Although sosajboi300 gives credit for the design to another Reddit , Spitezz, the build itself appears to be theirs. The images that sosajboi300 posted show that the surface build, while quite ornate, does not quite translate below to the Nether. Luckily, sosajboi300 did manage to spruce up the build in the Nether, adding some glowing objects to outline the portal and make it stand out among the rest of the Nether. As creative as that is, though, the overworld build, with a sword that looks like it could be out a classic 8-bit game, is the true standout of this creation.

Minecraft Nether Sword

Nether builds in Minecraft have become quite the hot trend for creative players of late. For instance, one player created an optical illusion whereby it appears that players can see through into the overworld through their Nether Portal. Of course, this was not actually possible and was simply a clever trick made by the . However, it does show that players are continuing to find creative ways to use what the Nether has to offer.

Regardless of whether players are more intrigued by the overworld build or the bright lights of the Nether build, sosajboi300's efforts are quite impressive. With the  Minecraft Caves & Cliffs Part II update on the way, it's exciting to imagine what new creations Minecraft players might discover.
