A variety of different mobs called Golems help the player in Minecraft Legends to defend against Piglin forces, with eight unique types having their own resource costs, strengths, and weaknesses. Golems are constantly helpful in the game, helping players combat other armies that seek to destroy their village. Protecting the Well of Fate becomes much easier with an army of diverse Golems who each serve a specific purpose during a raid.
There are three types of allies players are able to recruit, called Golems, Mob Allies, and Firsts. Overall, players have the choice to get four types of Golems by spending resources such as Coal or Redstone in Minecraft Legends on spawners that produce these creatures. Four First types are almost evolved versions of Golems, which cost much more to awaken rather than a small item cost for creating an individual Golem.
How to Create Every Golem Type
When players start the game, they are introduced to both Plank and Cobblestone Golems as they progress through the beginning of the story. These units are incredibly cheap to summon once players spend common resources far easier to find than Minecraft Legends when making certain spawners.
Over the first couple of battles, both Grindstone and Mossy Golems are shown as additional allies that make up a majority of the player's army before the stronger mob allies seen later. These units are only slightly more costly to make than the previous two Golem types, and may only be made once Iron has been discovered from a main story mission.
Golem |
Spawner Cost |
Summon Cost |
Description |
---|---|---|---|
Plank Golem |
|
|
A short-range attacking unit that does strong damage against Piglin enemies but does not have much health. |
Cobblestone Golem |
|
|
A melee unit that excels in destroying buildings but doesn't do much damage against Piglins. |
Grindstone Golem |
|
|
Stuns Piglins without doing a ton of damage and breaks up larger groups. A duarable close-range unit. |
Mossy Golem |
|
|
Does NOT attack, instead healing nearby allies and removing status effects, including those of the Hero. |
How to Use Different Kinds of Golem
These Golems have their own pros and cons, with the Plank Golem being the best starting unit to summon the most since they die easily but inflict tons of damage to Piglins. When traveling to Piglin Outposts, Cobblestone Golems are great units to bring to destroy buildings, although players will need to that these units struggle to kill Piglin attackers.
Do not only summon Mossy Golems, since they cannot attack enemy Piglins and only serve to heal allied mobs and the player when created.
Meanwhile, Grindstone Golems are perhaps the best initial units for base defense, since players can summon them to disrupt enemy groups and give them more time to create other allies. While these Golems may last long, they aren't going to be destroying Piglins as often as Plank Golems do. Mossy Golems are great for keeping the Hero and weaker Golems alive, but players cannot only use Mossy Golems since they do not attack enemies on their own.
How to Create Every First Type
Four powerful Golem evolutions called Firsts are found while exploring the Overworld, represented by question marks that show up on a player's map. Unlike regular Golems, these creatures may only be made once they are awakened from certain Improvements built back at the Well of Fate. It costs far rarer resources to awaken a First, but players that do gain these massive allies forever when playing this fun strategy adventure.
First |
Awakening Cost |
Description |
---|---|---|
First of Brick |
|
Acting as an evolution of the Grindstone Golem somewhat, this First knocks backs Piglins and creates a force field that protects allies from ranged attacks. |
First of Diorite |
|
Summons small groups of Golems periodically to fight in battle against enemies. |
First of Oak |
|
Attacks Piglins with a powerful, long-range attack that deals massive damage. |
First of Stone |
|
Throws huge rocks that deal average damage to Piglins, but devastates enemy buildings from far away. |
Players are only able to have one of each type of First active during any given battle, making it impossible to have two Firsts of Oak, three Firsts of Diorite, or anything similar. Every First has far more health than the average Golem, so players shouldn't be too worried keeping these bulky units alive compared to their other troops.
How to Use Different Kinds of Firsts
The First of Diorite may have tons of health, but much like the Mossy Golem, it cannot attack as it summons other smaller units. The units produced by the First of Diorite do not count toward the player's spawned unit limit, making it a great source of extra reinforcements. The First of Stone, on the other hand, has great use against structures at the cost of not being nearly as effective against Piglins.
Finally, both the First of Oak and First of Brick have abilities tied to defense against Piglins, with the former being excellent to wipe out waves of enemy attackers with its cannon's strike. Although this First has no melee combat, the First of Brick can help mitigate that weakness by disrupting enemy groups. While the First of Brick doesn't deal much damage, its force field does a great job protecting the Hero and their allies from ranged strikes.
How to Recover Golems and Firsts
As the player's units are defeated in battle, their spawned unit limit changes to allow more summoned Golems. Firsts act a bit differently, as these behemoths actually reappear after a short time when beaten at any intact Village Fountain, Wellhouse, or the Well of Fate. The various strengths, weaknesses, and costs of Golems and their evolutions affect all aspects of both the PvE and PvP multiplayer of Minecraft Legends since these units are the building blocks of all combat.
