The coronavirus pandemic has touched every corner of society. Numerous large events have been cancelled as governments around the world implement shelter-in-place orders to combat the spread of the disease. These events include major sports matches, video game conferences like NASCAR and F1, to turn to video games as an outlet for entertaining their fans as much as they can.

As reported by coronavirus relief campaign, and to help facilitate this, Courier Club has also incorporated an in-game merch stand with direct links to the websites of the bands featured, allowing fans to buy t-shirts and posters from inside Minecraft.

As shown in Courier Club's Twitch, so that fans who don't have access to Minecraft can still enjoy the show.

Block by Blockwest is not the first music festival to take place in Minecraft; 2018's Coalchella is a notable example of such an event. Coalchella sets a good precedent for an event like this succeeding and being well-received. Block by Blockwest's Discord server already has over 1700 , and if momentum continues to grow in the weeks leading up to the performance on April 25th, it should be quite an event. It's always inspiring to see entertainers come together and each other and their fans during tumultuous times like these. Even if players have never heard of the artists performing at Block by Blockwest, it's easy to ire the ingenuity, inspiration, and sheer desire to bring people together that motivated such an event.
